Default CC Sidewinder In Stampede

I'm, considering a brushless system for my Stampede besides the Velinieon VXL system. Will either of these Castle Creations Sidewinder systems fit?

I've been told the short course truck package is better than the sport. Let me know please.
And if these don't fit let me know on something else that may fit.

I'd go with the SC system purely for the fact that the Stampede tires might be a little too big for the higher kv systems.

funny how people always say that, the sidewinder sc system just came out, befor it did, people were running the 4600 in the stampede, why is it now that the 4600 is to high for the stampede?

I'd go with the SC as well. I've got the 4600 in my slash, it works, but I'd rather have more torque and just gear up....
but they will both work.

Now am I able to have it come with Traxxas connectors? Or do I need to put them on myself? I'm kind of unsure on how to do that.

hey man...if you decide the run the CC 4600 (very GOOD MOTOR and ESC) all you need to do is drop down your gear ratio accordingly. the 4600 motor is a beast. more than enough torque for the stampede

edit:

are far as connectors go you will want to go with DEANS connectors, get a soldering iron and acquire that skill as well. vital for success in this hobby on the long run.

I've also heard that Deans connectors are small and hard to work with. But alright, I've never soldered before, but I'll try and figure it out. How would I acquire the skill though? Like, how would I get a bit of practice before I possibly screw up my stuff? And is it easy to solder?

Since when do Deans melt?

ThunderbirdJunkie has Deans that are probably older than you and have passed more current than they were designed to and he's never had one melt.

I think he may have meant they melt some when soldering. I soldered some for my Heli max copter a while back and heated the solder bars a little too much and I did melt the housing a tad. As far as them melting while running the vehicle, highly doubtful. You do have to be careful while soldering the Deans like I described how I melted mine some. That would be the only con to the Deans that I can see. When it comes to current handling, either Deans or TRX plugs will do the job.

Also what would be wrong with a VXL 3500kv motor and a Sidewinder ESC? I run that combo in my Slash and it's held up well.

Nothing would be wrong with it. A friend of ThunderbirdJunkie's runs an MM with his Traxxas 3500 and it's plenty quick to clear our big double and catch high end 10.5 systems on the straight.

Well won't that cost more to buy the motor and ESC separately? I know the SCT Sidewinder combo is only 110 on A Main.

Yes, so why don't you just buy the ESC and motor together?

Yes, so why don't you just buy the ESC and motor together?
As in buying the Castle Creations system together? That's what I originally had planned. Buying the Castle ESC and Traxxas motor would cost more? Right?

Then why'd you say to buy them together if you can't buy them together?

What the heck are you even saying, dude?

You asked if the ESC would work with the VXL 3500, which would lead one to believe you already had one to use.

Then you said you didn't have one.

You can buy the Castle Sidewinder SCT system. That's what ThunderbirdJunkie recommends buying...you didn't ask any other questions aside from whether it can be used with the Traxxas motor.

I didn't say I had a motor to already use. But anyhow, bleh, Castle Creations it is!
