Default RC10b4.1 lipo help!!!

Hello -

I surprised my 9 year old son with an Associated rc10b4.1 brushless this christmas, but the batteries I purchased will not fit due to the position of the battery leads:

Can anybody recommend a lipo that will fit this car? I used to run RC cars long ago, but the new tech is very confusing for me. Any help would be appreciated.

I also purchased this charger on advice of the forums... Looks to still be ok...

Thank you very much for any advice.

this will work:   http://www.hobbypartz.com/98p-40c-50...-hardcase.html

i know they're out of stock, but you need a battery where the leads come out of the top/front of the battery AND the balance plug is removable. i don't know if the balance plug is removable on this battery:  http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...dProduct=14976

Thanks for the reply.
Why do I need to remove the balance plug?

Also, what about 20C vs. 30C?

on the first battery i linked, the balance plug has a small banana clip that you can plug and unplug. you plug it in to balance charge it. you don't need it to be plugged in to run the car. the reason i have to pull it out to run in my B4 is that if i don't, the factory team battery strap won't fit. i'll try to get some pics up later to show you.

20C vs 30C: you probably won't notice much of a difference. it also varies between manufacturers. i won't worry too much about it.

wait im sure you can use that battery you bought, sometimes you have to trim the area that doesn't fit, their is no need to waste your money by buying a new battery.

I'll have to give it another shot.   It really looked like I needed to chew away at some of the battery box though.

i had to notch out a bit of the chassis on my slash to make the battery you bought fit (a notch for the wires), but it just won't fit on my B4. the battery itself is too wide...

Possibly a little of both, but the problem is the wire position. I'd have to notch the longitudinal stiffener on the chassis to get the battery pack to sit in the box. I think I'll order one of the suggested packs and check the fit. I can keep the other packs for the inevitable second rc.

Thanks. Now I just have to figure out the charger.... It feels like the technology had raced ahead of me with rc. Last time I played with these I was stoked to get a new ESC for my gold pan RC10!!

Cheers,

Yeah that the only trouble with the b4 is that the only lipos that will fit are the ones with bullet connects on top but I manage to make this fit its tight but it did fit http://www.venom-group.com/itemdesc.asp?ic=15008

Thanks for all the responses.   You guys are great.

Waiting for another pack with top leads to arrive.   Should fit the bill.   I'll notch the chassis as a last resort.

Cheers.
