My 13 year old son has been racing a stock 2wd Slash at a local track and having a great time. We would like to get another truck so he could race another class. I have been looking at a Team Assoicated RC10T4,I see them listed on E-bay for around $225 by RC Boyz among others. Knowing this is not the factory team setup, it still comes with a 2.4ghz radio,ESC,And a brushless motor
Any thoughts on this truck ??

I have a T4 and I love it! I have it set up with a 9 Turn Brushless and it is fast even on 2S power. It is has been quite some time since I have done any racing but the T4 has a pretty impressive pedigree as far as a race truck goes. I think he will more than happy with it. BTW I have purchased quite a few parts from RC Boyz and they are a great seller. Quick shipping and have always been helpful when i had questions.

i have a T4 RTR version that is almost 3 years old and never had to complain about the truck, it handles very good, can take a lot of pounding, easy to maintain and dissasamble, lots of hop-ups, big availability of parts. i would highly recomend the truck for any begginner.

I've been looking into this truck aswell. Seems to be a great truck that has been around for years with good aftermarket support. Makes a great racer and can handle bashing so covers both fields. I'm not sure how good the stock BL system is but like most RTR's I would think it will be alright if you dont push it to hard.
All in all it seems to be a kick butt platform.

T4.1 is a great truck. Bought an RTR 6 months ago and have been very happy. I am brand new to this so it must be durable to still be alive.
Weaknesses:
out of the box tires aren't very good for hard packed clay
servo is dreadfully slow
ESC has a tendancy to fail. Mine went out 45 days old. Replace free of charge by AE (great customer service) and has been perfect since

Associated builds awesome stuff, and the RC10T4.1 is no exception. Definately would be about the best in its class for racing.

Yeah, I recently got one, the BL doesn't make it pop wheelies, for a fact. Is is durable and i love jumping mine on my friends corner shelf, turned upside down, looks like a jump.

the T4 is a great truck, we race them, bash them, typically abuse them, they are great trucks and world class to boot!!
