pick one you like better, and just have fun. in my opinion i like electric, just easier for me. im one of those people who don't have the skill to tune, maintain, and own a nitro. overall, all you need to do is see which one you like, which one you think is easier for you, buy it and have fun!

SC10 brushless RTR, and a couple batteries/charger from hobbyking's US warehouse.

You'll be ready to roll hardcore. Oh, and a 20t pinion.

I think the SC10 isn't a buggy.
But I'm thinking of getting the traxxas bandit vxl?

Is it any good?

Its a decent "1st car". But since you plan to race, you might want to look into the Team Associated B4.1 RTR. It can be had with a brushless motor and electronics. All you would need is a battery and charger.

If you want to race bandit is not a good choice, unless you want them to get laughed at the track
Only thing I think that people really race from traxxas is the slash's outside that you don't hear much else.

Nobody at the track would laugh at them. Give a gentle push in the right direction though before too much dough was spent on the Bandit is what they'd do.

Traxxas (for the most part) Sucks for racing If you get a bandit , rustler , stampede , You will never be competitve no matter how good you are at driving.
Check out the HPIBlitz Or something that you can race like that, You can also bash the blitz.
Just add your own brushless system.
