Default Traxxas stampede monster jam edition

Because everyone knows that 1:1 monster trucks are 2wd and have independent suspension.

lol. i know.

but lets be realistic, 90% of the "monster trucks" out there are not really monster trucks but beefy stadium trucks.

savage, maxx's, lst's are not monster trucks either.

traxxas need to make these body's in maxx size though, then clod owners would have some cool new body options.

these 'pede's are a good thing though, bound to attract some new hobbyists.

lets face it the average kid has no idea what makes a monster truck. as long as it has big wheels and tires and a cool body it's a monster in their eyes.

Just wish that they had made the Grinder with a 04-08 f-150 body. I don't see why they couldn't considering they have licensing deals with Ford for their Fiesta and soon the new Mustang.

Sure people will moan about traxxas rehashing another old design again but tbh if it brings the monster jam fans into the hobby fair dos
My pede is still my most used RC and always will be tuff as nails and cheap hopups too.

My eye is firmly on the 4wd pede now [8D] preordered already in the uk lol

curious do you think a savage is a beefy stadium truck is its not a MT?
Maxx I won't argue it does kinda look like a beefy ST from pics I saw of it.
But I own a fair amount of ST's and the savage doesn't look anwhere near it (apart from having 4 wheels)

But on the other side real monster trucks are just normal trucks or cars with giant tires slapped on them.

Side note my pede is probably the least used RC I've owned think I ran it 2 times before I got bored.

I believe a true MT has a solid axle. The Savage does not. It does have the twin vertical plates going for it, though (which seems to be a standard for MT in the RC world).

I think a good RC MT example is the Tamiya TXT.

exactly.

have you ever seen a real mt? watched monster jam? those are monster trucks. i know i'm being picky/purist but true mt's can do things other trucks can't and vice versa.
solid axle is a must IMHO, clodbusters, juggs, bullheads, mad force, txt-1,ground pounder are all examples of true rc monster trucks.

most crawlers can be turned into mt's aswell.

don't get me wrong, these 'pede's are good for the hobby.

As for the Monster Jam stuff, at least they're new bodies to use on the Pede for variety. So that's cool. Plus, tires that aren't Talons is a big plus in my book.

wheelie king owners should be happy to as 'pede bodies fit really well on them.

Syco-Real monster trucks have nothing in common w/ regular trucks/cars-They have tube frame's (think nascar) and the motor's average about 1300-1400 HP and run on methanol. Use military axles along w/rear steer and agriculture terra tires custom cut as needed, fiberglass bodies and weigh 10,000lbs. The only thing remotely close to a real car part would prob be the transmission which are custom built but based off a GM powerglide (2spd). So nothing really close at all to a real truck.

Sorry never did a huge amount of research into the topic.
I did know about the frames, not the rest though.

who cares if real monster trucks have solid axles or not

do you think traxxas would sell more RC's if they started making them slower and more to scale?

if you want a TVP with solid axle MT with 4 wheel steering.... then the ground pounder is the truck!
built by crawford performance!

still, i like that traxxas has put a nice 1:1 body on the stampede. how many stampede owners have spent extra $$$ for a grave digger body?
as already mentioned, it will bring more into the hobby.

you also gotta give traxxas some credit on the tires! they look pretty scale tread to me!

im wondering... the link says that they will have a monster mutt body. is it gonna be the dalmation one, that has ears that can flop around? that would be cool!

lol, solid axle trucks don't have to be slow. my clod will smoke a 'pede, aswell as crush it, stomp it into the earth, and eat it's next of kin. < thats monster right there!

traxxas needs to make these bodies for the maxx trucks though, then i can get one for my clod. i'd love an el Toro Loco body.

Holy scheister - the Mad Force comes RTR with some solid electronics under the hood for $400. Not too shabby.

i know, it's a sick deal. the only thing that has kept me from buying one is that i love kits and have never owned an rtr.

something tells me i'll have one by the end of 2011 though.

Yeah, I know what you mean - building it is a lot of fun, plus you have a better manual to fall back on when you take it apart, it's in pieces, and you can't reassemble for days. Exploded diagrams are ok, but not the same.

I like Kyosho - I've owned just a few in my day, but like them. They seem to have solid RTR deals too. DBX VE for $260 RTR with BL - nice. Too bad you can't get that in a kit though.

yikes, just look at the 43 second mark of this video for why solid axles don't work in an RC

that little rock just about flips the thing

you guys are crazy that thing is awesome.

btw, if we want to talk scale that "little rock" is about the size of a car compared to a monster truck, so yeah of course it almost flips it.
