Good electric vehicle for snow and dirt??
Hi,
I'm a airplane guy and have no experience in the rc truck department....
What I am looking for is something that will drive good on snow as well as dirt and it has to carry a small payload (12-16oz).. It doesn't need to be fast, but has to have good range (150yds max) and it needs to be stable, meaning it wont tip on rough terrain.. I know this seems odd, but it's for a project that i am working on.. Thanks for any help, links would be a big help...

you would probably want a crawler or something like a wheely king.
throw a $20 2.4ghz radio in it and your range would be near half a mile

i agree, you prolly want a truck with solid axels and big wheels.
wheely king, super clodbuster come to mind. for payload the clod is great.

There's a Nitro version of the Kyosho Blizzard. it has a 2 speed transmission. I've got one of those and it's a blast to drive in the snow. You can also fit a scale snow plow on those. Kyosho still sells them and some hobby shops may still have them in stock.

here's the electric version that I remember Kyosho was still selling as of mid 2010

a RC tank would prolly work too
I have a HengLong 1/16th scale tiger that goes pretty good in the snow(don't let its scale fool you its about the size of a 1/8th buggy, or 1/10th stadium truck). Could probably take the top half the hull off, and slap a 1/8th scale truck body on it to lighten the load so it can carry the payload (you would easily be removing a pound) only thing is they are kinda slow. But hell I payed $60

I would imagine a MT like the Emaxx with Traxxas's waterproof equipment would work just fine, then be ready to bash and play with when you are done with your project, whatever that may be. What project are you planning on anyways? Surely not making a lil RC-XD, right hehe Couldnt help it :P

I'd highly suggest a TRAXXAS SUMMIT!
The Summit is big, wide, huge tires and can crawl through anything! Plus it'll carry the weight you were wanting with ease and it dosn;t tip over, has Remote locking differentials, and a BLAST to drive! PLUS IT"S WATERPROOF so much you can throw it in a lake and it will still run in the lake.
I would suggest you run 2S lipo batteries with a Low Voltage Cut off as well to get some extra speed if you want it faster!
