Favorite Short Course Truck?
Hey all,
Me and my buddy are interested in getting a short course truck for our next rc. We both own like 3 other trucks and neither of us have an SC, but we now started going to a track and are very interested. We are both pretty faithful traxxas owners I have owned one HPI and I'm willing to try a new company. We want brushless and I do not think the Blitz is brushless? But could be wrong. Anyway, right now its between sc10, slash 4x4, slash 2wd or blitz. What's everybody's opinions. Pros and Cons?
Thanks!

RE: Favorite Short Course Truck?
people speak pretty highly of the new Losi, and the SC10 is based on the t4/b4 so that's great as well, the Blitz also has a lot of fans
you can get a sc10 brusless RTR for about $240ish, the slash 4x4 brushless is about $374
I don't think you can get the other two choices with brushless setups stock, but that certainly doesn't mean that you shouldn't check them out
I think the Losi may be the hot ticket of them all, even though I'm more of an AE fan

I fell in love with my Slash 4X4 originally and still have it in for that truck, but a buddy of mine races the OFNA Jammin 10SC Bump edition, Id LOVE to get one of those, incredible racers as far as 4X4 SC trucks go.

thunder, would the xxx-sct need a BL system to keep up with the sc10 though? I know on the track you dont need hit those kind of speed but off the track?

Stock XXX-SCT vs stock brushed SC10 RTR are pretty close. They're both pretty slow...just go ahead and upgrade either one you get. ITBJHO the Associated brushless system isn't all that great. The motor is pretty OK, but it needs to be geared taller than it is out of the box to be a good runner. ESC leave a lot to be desired.

My xxx-t has been with me longer than any other rc I've owned, so I'm partial to the new xxx-sct. still not letting go of my 4x4 slash though. My boys and I will be picking one up in the near future.

I was able to drive a SC10 (brushed, RTR), a Slash (2wd) and a Blitz before going ahead and getting my SC10. I didnt like the Slash because it rolled. A lot. The SC10 won out over the Blitz by just a tad, and partly due to brand loyalty.

I didnt like hearing a slash jump and "THUD", "SMACK", it just sounds so horrible....
....no breakages it just sounds bad...
On oval I dont have to hear it slap the ground really hard...
maybe my SC10 will sound and feel better offroad...
I'll have it Tuesday/Wed next week, and I'll be trying it out next weekend.
Im gonna be running a B4 tranny I have laying
around because I prefer a ball-diff on carpet. And Gear Diff on dirt
...Actually a ball-diff would be better on clay dirt,
or smooth, hard packed clay dirt. And a Gear Diff outdoors.

RE: Favorite Short Course Truck?
Thanks guys for all the opinions. This def didnt make my decision easier haha. Seems like each truck has some pros and cons. To me the Blitz doesnt seem worth it due to no 2.4ghz and no BL system but still quite pricey. Its a damn good looking truck though.

RE: Favorite Short Course Truck?
agreed, and the 4wd slash is pretty expensive compared to the 2wd competition
the VXL slash 2wd is offensively overpriced IMO

RE: Favorite Short Course Truck?
I agree that the 2wd slash is over priced. the sc10 brushless is your best bang for your buck. but if i would start over i would get the jammin scrt and invest deeply into it. i have a blitz and had a slash.
