It's simple high quality braided sleeving with black heatshrink.  Some materials and some time is all it takes.  I removed the traxxas connector coming from the ESC to sleeve the wires, and then used a new one so the pins wouldn't come loose.

The advantage of doing this is better protection for your wires.  If something gets cut, it's likely to be just the braiding.

I doubt anyone would be willing to pay what I would want for it.  If they did, I might consider it.  The thing is a beast, it's just so much fun, it would be really hard to part with.  Plus it's slightly sentimental since it was my first ever RC

I wouldn't let it go for less than $600, unless I was given a good reason

Pics of my 4X4 monster are all over here, not gonna repost, but it can be found most recently towards the bottom of page 2 on the "Your fast cars" thread, general discussions section here

You obviously have no idea how many modifications have been done to this truck. Be quiet unless you know.

Nice truck though, I went and found it

Thanks lol

And it would be more a matter of personal taste. The big ticket mods arent there, like motor and esc, and trust me, Ive seen ya post it prolly three other times, and once with a full upgrades list. It all goes back to the fact it is worth more to YOU than anyone else. I'd love to get $600 out of mine as well, and its got more than that in mods and spare parts/tire sets, but I know $150-$200 would be tops, even with the CC setup, and the fact that i maintain it like I have OCD (cleaned after every race day, loose/slop replaced with new, bearings with only 15-20 runs replaced and put away for emergency, etc).

The actual value of these machines doesn't go down when you run them, if you run them right, and especially if you upgrade them with better parts.  The only reason the depreciation is so bad is because people expect it to be that bad, so they list them low.  Because of this, people know they can get a better deal if they wait, so they do, so the prices stay low and depreciation stays high.

If people would sell their rigs for what they are actually worth, we could all be much better off.

I have over $1,000 into my slash, with about $700 of that in upgrades (there's more than I've listed), I think $600 is fair depreciation considering the amount of work involved to do upgrades and tune it so that it runs just right.

I would agree with this for anybodies vehicle.  Not just mine.  I'm not an emotional person, my price has nothing to do with the fact that the truck MEANS more to me, it's simply what I feel is fair market value.  If you guys want to sell your rigs for pennies go for it, but you won't find me jumping on that bandwagon anytime soon.

my 2wd slash with c/c 4600 system,1/8 buggy adapters and wheels and tires, aluminum rear hubs, hitec steering.
raced hard for over a year weekly and broke nothing. well 1 body post lol.

i see alot of people here running the velineon and sorry but i tried 5-6 different velineon systems and all had the same issue.... thermal or overheating.
i'll never run one of those again. my castle has been perfect in snow, mud, dust ect. i got over a year on my first castle motor and i beat on it.

and snow just take the air hose to it and some wd-40 after.
