Default yes, another lipo question.

i have a couple of the turnigy 2s 5000mah 40c packs and was wondering the max charge rate on these. my venom batteries say 1c or 5 amps but on the back of the turnigy packs they state not to charge over 4c?

you answered your own question...the lipo says 4C. I still only charge around 1C though since I'm not in a hurry and would like a little extra life out of them (not a ton, maybe a few dozen more cycles)

4c would be 20 amps on that thing,

you'd have to own a pretty beastly charger to be able to do that

was more or less curious if anyone had charged at that rate for safety reasons. the only way to get my charger to chage at that rate is to increase the mah capacity setting.

LIPO batteries are NOT "regular batteries". DO NOT TRY TO CHARGE A LIPO BATTERY WITH ANYTHING BUT, A LIPO CHARGER. You're literally playing with fire when you handle LIPOs and if you mis-handle them you WILL get burned.

I have a bit of experience with the Flightmax batteries and, if you want them to last, don't charge them over 2C. I charge mine at 2C for speed when at the field and when I get home I balance charge them at 1C.

Who said anything about charging with something besides a lipo charger...? Stop being so rowdy and take a chill pill.

why do you need to charge a battery past 2C any way? Safer to get another battery and charge it before going out to to drive so you don't have to wait for it to charge before your race and can focus on you car setup ect, grab a drink ect.

Charge at 1c, or equal to 5A for the most life and safest charging

I routinely charge way over the max on many packs. If I had ability to do over 10 amps I would.

if the battery maker tells you it's OK to charge at 2c, 4c whatever... you're not being safer by charging slower, you're just being slower

I have the same packs and 2C is the recommended charge rate and 4C is the max rate.

I charge mine at 2C.
