The Best 2wd Buggy for Paddle Tire set
Hey I am just looking around for a 1/10 2wd buggy to set up with paddle tire and I am not to sure what to go with. At the moment I am leaning towards the Traxxas Bandit.
What I am looking for is a buggy with a gear differential, In the past I had a lot of trouble with the ball diffs.
The reason I am planning to go with a buggy is because the body is tight fitting to the chassis and I think it will help to keep sand out of there.
I do plan on upgrading the drive shaft the stock one will most likely break
Do you think a Bandit is the way to go for this or do you have any other ideas

the bandit is close to the worst buggy on the market, for the same price as some of the better buggies on the market

if your looking for a 2wd then it really doesnt matter if sand gets into the chassis, it wont do anything, theres no shaft to jam or bearings to ruin.
And also with a 2wd it will barely even flick sand up into the body anyway due to it being rwd and it will shoot the sand backwards.
I reccomend the hpi efirestorm flux.

Also the stock driveshafts on the efirestorm 10t flux will NOT break, they are fully hardened steel.
The only things you need to keep a watch on is the Differential outdrive cups, They wear down fast if not maintained.
There is a easy mod to do to them if you want to or you can just buy some aftermarket hardened steel ones from OUTFRONTFRAMES.
Also the efirestorm flux comes with 2.4ghz radio gear, the new castle sidewinder sv2 esc and the new castle 4 pole 4600kv brushless motor.
It also includes a Battery and radio batterys.
All you need is paddle tyres.

RE: The Best 2wd Buggy for Paddle Tire set
Thanks for all the help and info. I really like the HPI FireStorm That one looks pretty sweet.
I have been looking around a lot and thinking witch way to go and I think I have finally figured out what I am going to get and build.
Also haha I guess I was not set in stone about getting a 2wd. So after looking all over the net I have decided to got with a Axial SCX10.
Now I just have to figure out if I should get the Kit model (AX90014) or the RTR (AX90016)?
So far from what I can see is that the kit is a bit less in price $275.99 & the RTR is $299.99 at www.greathobbies.com
The difference between the two does not seem to be very much
SXC10 kit
LED light pods LEDs not included
Aluminum linkage
SXC10 RTR
LED Light pod with lights
Plastic linkage
27T brushed motor
Forward/ Reverse ESC
TX/RX 2.4ghz
To myself at this piont I'm thinking the RTR is a better buy.
What I plan to build is a Foumula Offroad truck (FOFF)
Here are some link to see more on it:
http://axialracing.com/wordpress/201...ormula-offroad
http://axialracing.com/wordpress/201...-build-part-2/
What do you guys think of the SXC10 Kit vs the RTR?

You FOFF truck idea is cool and all but wont be the best performer, at any sort of speed, if you hit a bump it will get kicked about due to solid axles,
Thats where independent suspension comes into play. Scx10 is more suited to slower speeds. You idea will still work though.
And i say get the rtr, its just easier and seing as it comes with the new hpi 2.4ghz its a better deal.

Most 1/10 FOFF stuff is solid axle actually, and axial's are the main vehicle they seem to be based off of.
They also run unlimited FOFF classes, but most of those are 1/8 truggies and MT's that are modified.

If you are simply looking for something to bash are the dunes in then the Bandit is a good choice. You can find a Used VXL for around $200. The entire drive train is very stout so it will handle the abuse. It doesn't really matter how well something handles. In all honesty nothing is going to handle well in sand. Just get something that will take the abuse. The Bandit will do fine.
