Spurgear for Associated...
Hi everyone!
Does anybody know for sure if the spurgear AE89110 is only steel or hardened steel? And if its strong?
Take care!

The plastic spur is strong enough. I tried this particular spur on my RC8e, and it scared me with its extreme loud whining noise just by driving the car slowly on the floor. Why do you need one?

Plastic spurs will work. I tried a steel one and started striping internal trans gears, which obviously, are a bit more difficult to replace.

1/8 buggies don't really have much in the way of "internal transmission gears". This is a 1/8 buggy, which are generally outfitted with steel spurs, not plastic ones. Just recently have they been starting to come with plastics with the electric 1/8 buggies.

I got this for my sc8e,just because I wanted something strong and so I get a complete steel driveline I know it is louder, but I think it sounds cool.
So it's hardend steel, good cause my pinion is hardend steel to.
The best for those who jump their cars like crazy is to have the spur plastic breakpoint, but if you drive real hard and jump scalelike I prefer the hardend steel spur for the build like a tank complete feeling
Edit: Thanks for the replies everyone ! and for the confirmation that it is a hardened steel spur.
