Monster+Redcat Caldera= differintial issue
Alright, i bought the Caldera 10E SC truck, it ran great stock and all that but i like to tinker with things. I put a castle creation setup, Momba monster with a 1415 series 4 Pole 2400 kv motor in my truck with 4S lipos.... Needless to say it hauls. Now, i have flattened out two sets of rear differential gears and i cannot find a set of upgraded gears anywhere. Does anyone know where i can find a set of gears or something i can do to fix this issue? ( i mean other than lay off the throttle).. I also blew the stock tires off the front when the rear diff went, any recommendations on tires aswell?

In all honesty buy a roller for a truck that can handle it.
I HIGHLY doubt the caldera has any parts available for it that can handle the power. If it did you would know cause last I looked Redcat lists all their upgrades in the manual seeing they are the only seller for aftermarket parts for their trucks.

yeah i figured the redcat gears wouldnt stand up to it, i was hoping someone knew a differential setup that might fit. I have been looking at associated and hpi differential setups and thinking about ordering a few to see if they mesh up. so far the only problem i have had with the caldera and the momba is the differential. all the driveshafts and other parts hold up just fine. I was also running stock gearing with punch control set to zero, which i plan on changing once all my parts come in. I have looked at traxxas/hpi rollers but none of them interest me as much as redcat... its somewhat the underdog to most people. As far as durability to bashing, so far ive launched into a toolbox and off a 12 foot gravel mound and havent broke a thing. Thing is sick while it is running =D

the savage don't interest you?
but yea I ran into the same issues with the Brama the diffs couldn't stand up to the BL power and ground to a pulp, and I wasted so much cash trying to fit other parts in to it in vain it wasn't funny

th trick is shimming my friend.find some thin washers about the same size as you bearings on the side of the diffs. then by adding and subtracting shims you can ajust the gear mesh! it's great. i have done it to my tornado and earthquake 8e it works awesome! and its cheep

Try swapping to the HPI RS4 Nitro MT diffs. They can be pricey to piece together if they don't sell them as a whole unit, but it's worth checking into.

but ya. shimming spider gears & usin 30,000 fluid wood help slowdown internal diff action. & shimming ring & pinion wood help close up diff gear mesh & sum antiwear grease woodnt hurt.
but i hav a feelin dat wif dat setup, ull b fixn gears weekly.
