tamiya mad bull special.. how rare?
i have just finnished restoring this mad bull.. i think its called a "mad bull special" i know the shocks should be red but i had blue ones going spare, it has a grey chassis and front arms, the wheels are chrome.. the originals were battered but looked like wild willy 2 wheels so i put them on, it has a mechanical speed controller and custom made front and side windows. but the cool thing is the gearbox.. its clear!! there are a few scuffs on it but i cant find a replacement anywhere!! there are brand new gears in the box and they are coloured. soooo cool.
so any ideas how rare it is?
cheers people!

Madbull's are not uncommon and not collectable. Tamiya actually sold them up until a year or so ago in kit form and still sells the RTR. The only thing I see different on you model is the clear gearbox and those were pretty common on another car. Did you madbull come with that gearbox or did you source it from something else ?

Yeah, unfortunately in the RC industry there's a HUGE difference between OLD and VINTAGE. Just because something was made in the 80's (or it's design was) doesn't make it vintage or in demand.

This is my Mad Bull.As you can see, it looks a bit different. The wheels are Tamiya beadlocks on 12mm hex's all round. The front adapters are ball raced. Tyres are Geolanders. Ansmann shocks and 14 turn motor, Viper SSR ESC, 3 cell saddle pack Lipo in parallel, FX 10 front end fitted. Goes a bit quicker and handles as well.
