Default REPEATEDLY STRIPPING SPUR GEAR HELP!

hello all, need some quick suggestions for my redcat volcano epx brushless pro. i had previously replaced the spur with the new steel replacement since i kept stripping the plastic ones with the lipo battery. The issue is, i cant drive the truck more than a few minutes b4 it strips loose from the pinion. Both are steel, but somehow, they just separate. Imeshed them properly and tightened the bolts b4 using it, but it happens nonetheless. any suggestions out there??????

you should look for the reason the plastic spurs where striping. gears shouldnt strip very often, only when they are worn out. my guess is there is some binding in the drive-line, possibly a pin that is coming out. as for the motor moving, check all screws to see if they are tight and if it still comes loose, do as xerxes said, blue loctite on the motor mount screws.

So the tow steel ones arent stripping, they are unmeshing?

Try a dab of blue locktite or thick ca glue on each screw before you tighten it.
Or get new motor screws if the current ones are stripped.
And you dont want ca glue on your screws. That would destroy the point of screws and they would become rivets.
I Ca glued a heatsink over my existing esc heatsink and the overheatsink just wont come off. Its like welded.

Follow these rules:
use a good screw driver set for setting the screws

replace worn screws ASAP

always try to use steel hex headed screws where possible

don't use the crappy L shaped wrenches included

push down on the screw with the driver to stop the screw head from stripping and this enables maximum tightening

purchase appropriate threadlock and use on the screws

replace any worn gears asap

always get high quality gears

make sure you use gears of the same pitch (people do make this mistake)

Also, the pinion screws on the redcats are crap, get some higher quality ones from another brand

its happened to nearly every rc hobbyist at one stage. When I was a noob, I thought my tt01e had 48pitch (because they looked the same, bought some and stripped 3 spur gears in a row (they costed $2 each) Then I realised that 0.6 pitch existed so I bought some Yeah Racing hard coated 0.6 gears, problem solved

thanks for the help, i think i'll be starting with the screws, the gears are rather new and i had already upgraded from the plastic spur gear that was getting chewed up constantly. Probalby a dumb question, but the screws you guys are referring to are the ones that old the pinion gear onto the motor and the screws that hold the spur gear down right?

+1 I love their pinion gears. They're very high quality.
