Default Doubles, Triples, Quads

Just another quick question. On a modified motor, what is the difference between lets say a 14 turn single, double, triple and a quad??? I think I'm right in thinking the double had 2 winds in it, triple has 3 and so on, but what advantage does each give you????

a double will have more torque and less top speed then the triple. the triple will ahve more torque and less top speed that the quad and less torque than the double and more top speed than the double... so on. i also thing that a the higher the winds are the less run time u get

actually the lower the number of winds the less run time you will get because the larger wires will be able to carry more current and drain your battery in a shorter amount of time.

getting a 8t double is like getting an 8.5 as far as rpm is concerned, but when you compare power figures there and be a substantial drop between an say an 8t triple and a 8t, or even a 9t

You mean that a 9t triple has significantly more power than a 9t double or single?

right sorry about that,

double, triple etc.. have more power but less rpm.

unless its a trinity D5, then they are the same if it is a 8t single or a 8t double, not sure about the triple's though.

it really varies alot between motor models and manufacturers, the numbers are not set in stone.
