castle sidewinder 5700
ive had a sidewinder for 3 months now i like the performance but i feel a tekin fits the bill now. the 5700 screams with 22p 83s on blitz
the problem is that when i was racing it at the track . something stopped working and the motor made no sound. the esc looks like its starting normaly but the motor did not make the sound. it was a hot day and i had it geared low to save run time
and to keep things cool. it was geared at 16 t p 88t s great performance what could be the problem

way to high of a khv to running in a blitz, My bet is something overheated and needs to be replaced id advise a 3600 to 4600 tops for a blitz even with 2s. BTW what battery are you sing ?

Castle recamends starting the gearing for a 5700 in a Blitz at 12 to 14 t pinion on a 88 t spur, so I would say you may be overgeared a bit.

The speedo probably gave up the ghost, the Sidewinder isn't exactly renowned for its robustness.
Go whole hog and get the Tekin RS Pro with a 10.5, you won't be sorry.

nitro, electric is no easier than nitro is when you get into aftermarket setups and stuff; that's part of why ThunderbirdJunkie is enjoying electric so much. With nitro, you tweak a couple needles, fill the tank, hit the car on the bump box and you're on your way.
There's still a steep learning curve to electric; and good power systems are EXPENSIVE. It's a whole lot easier to swallow buying a Picco 21 for $250 than a Tekin RS Pro system for $300, a good battery for $60-120, and you still have to solder...electric racing can be a full time job on top of a full time job and on top of full time college...ask ThunderbirdJunkie how he knows, lol.
Don't let this experience discourage you, though. That Blitz can be made to handle well, and you're almost there. Make it rock 'n' roll.
