I have a 1:18 scale ecx torment and have been having issues with the rear transmission. I have had to replace it once and i hear this is a conman issue. I have been looking for upgrades for the transmission such as metal gears and have found nothing. Is there any suggestions as to what I can replace or upgrade to keep this from happening?

Upgrades:
Bearing kit
Shocks and shock oil (the rest is stock)

Welcome to RCU.

I really disliked hearing the situation your in. I've had a couple of 1/18 scale monster trucks (not ECX) and they lasted a whole couple of weeks. Same kinda issue you face..,stripped gears. I thought they would be a good "starter RC" for my young daughter, but all I got from her ..."Is it suppose to sound like that Dad?"

I did a quick search and came up with nothing as far as any upgraded parts for the Torment tranny. I'll be honest with you, I never even knew the lil' Torment existed until today. I used to be a searching freak when I was looking for my next RC awhile back. ECX's 1/10 scale platforms had looked very durable to me, but I went in another direction. I like how ECX has in their description "...a durable, reliable and well-rounded short course truck that dares to take on just about anything is now available in a convenient, fun 1:18 size for the completely value-minded. Just as with any ECX basher, the Torment is ready to take abuse as well as dish it out."

As you wait for someone else to jump in here with a clue of possible upgrade options, a couple of questions. How long does the gears last before you have an issue? Is it just one certain gear that's given you an issue?
