Default HPI decision to make

So I'm going from Traxxas to HPI.

I don't race, only backyard bashing and stuff like that. Definately running in mud and snow and rain.

So I thought I was set on the Firestorm flux brushless etc.

But for another $25 why wouldn't I get the Bullet, or Bullet MT?

My criteria is this,

backyard abusing this thing,

want it to be easy to maintain, you can consider me a noob.

I guess that's kinda why I like the 2wd, less parts, but will Ibe able to keep up with my dad and brother who have 4x4 pedes when we are in the mud and snow? is this pretty capable? we dont really run them, but i want to be able to attack the same hills they do

Thanks!

What is your budget?

The Savage XS would be the best bet. Latest and greatest and apparently tough as all hell.

The Bullet is a nice little machine indeed, if a tad redundent with the release of the beasty little Savage.

Aren't the little savages burning up the speed controls though?

Not on 2s, which is fast enough for most. Only 3s they don't seem to like, and HPI will warranty any burnt ones til you get a good one. Some people have been able to run 3s from the start, it seems to be down to the individual unit.

I like the XS, but I've read that it's kinda hard to work on?

Again you could consider myself a noob. Don't know if that helps?

Well since your a "noob" don't always believe what you read. The XS is a great truck and it is an excellent basher...

The Savage XS is probably your best bet in that price range. They are amazing rite out of the box and are fast enough on 2 cell. I do agree though that they are a bit of a ***** to work on though. They make you pull apart half the car in order to fix little simple things. Besides that, they cant be beat in that price range...

The Savage XS has been out for about 4 months now. As for parts I get mine off of ebay.

Lots of them. ThunderbirdJunkie has a 4200mah 25c Dynamite battery. It's a little underrated, but he's had no problems thus far.
