Default help tamiya rough rider

Hi guys not to familiar with R/C cars and i need a bit of advice from the experts im building a 1/16th Chevy Quad tractor and im desperate for some help with tyres to run the thing.
my LHS the guy had what i beleive are tamiya rough rider tyres and after a quick measure they seem to fit the bill for the chevy.
now the help bit does anyone nowof any aftermarket tyres designed with the rough rider front tyres in mind?

thanks in advance

plus a few pics of what i have at the moment

with its little bro

the chassis is handmade from brass tube and the running gear is from a M16 half track

If you go back to that same LHS, take a ruler with you, and measure the inside diameter of the tire, and the width of the tire bead. Use those measurements as a reference for shopping around for other tires. I'm guessing that the Rough Rider used 1.5 dia wheels, but don't quote me on that.

That's awesome!

For aftermarket Rough Rider tires, you're probably SOL, but the stock ones would look pretty good on your project.

If your concern is finding more than one pair, you should be fine, since Tamiya re-released the Fast Atack Vehicle which looks like the same tires.

Many thanks Thunderbirdjunkie

the rough rider front tyres look very close what i scaled up are 68mm O.D. with a 30mm I.D. 18mm wide
and the rough rider ones are 70mm O.D. with a 30mm I.D and are 20mm wide so very very close infact the more i think on it the more i want them now

i havent seen the tread pattern on the F.A.V ?
infact i cant even seem to find much reference on them at all?

The F.A.V. shares the same tread pattern with the subaru brat.

19805108 is the part number. ThunderbirdJunkie can't find any from any reputable online dealers in the US, but there are a few eBay stores that have them.

No problem. BTW, is that the 1/35 Tamiya kit you're using for an example? ThunderbirdJunkie built that one a long time ago.

Dunno, the real gun tractors had some pretty small and skinny tires compared to the rest of the truck. Either way, they definitely look better with a bigger, beefier tire[&:]

the Morrris tractor had small skinny tyres but these are 2mm in difference when scaled and as you say they look better

i may use the smaller ones on the morris
