Default Slash 2wd vs SC10 2wd Please help!

Im interested in buying a short course truck and I cant decide between the sc10 and the slash. The slash seems to be more durablebut the sc10 seems to be better for racing. Im looking to race and bash. I know that the slash is great for bashing but as for putting it on the track im not sure? Can anyone give me some input on how well the slash performs on the track? Can you consistantly contend in races with the slash? If there are any sc 10 owners that could give me some input on its durability it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

With Harder shock oils, 2S lipo and S1 compound tires, the slash is a GREAT competitor on the track. it is as smooth as butte, levels itself out in the air and is durable as heck! And stock class, or spec. slash (completely stock, no special aluminum parts or brushless systems) it is extremely popular and is also supported widely in most hobby shops.

and to top it off. a great charger- http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ger-w-Balancer

AGAIN, both trucks will do either but if you plan on spending any time at the track i think the sc10 rs is the way to go, it is a little more track ready than the slash. as for the the top speed thing, with the right gearing and battery, either truck will be very quick. if you are just bashing around the yard and racing friends down the street, the slash will be a great truck and arguably slightly more durable. i really like the rtr raptor ed truck myself visually, but the sc10 rs would be my choice from a performance standpoint.

There are several Slash's at that race at our club track and they are tough competitors. However, Losi and Associated dominate the field in both 2x4 and 4x4. None of the Slash drivers have finished above 3rd place. The SC10RS can be found for less than $300 or for $379 with a Reedy charger and LiPo. It is ready to hit the track right out of the box, the Slash would benefit from new tires, depending on your track conditions.

I'm looking to get one of these to just run around the yard. Which would do better for that? I'm thinking since its in grass its gonna need more torque right?

I'm leanin toward an SC10 since I could get it plus my choice of charger/battery for <300

Thanks for any help!

Does your local track have a stock Slash class?
Are you looking at the brushed or brushless versions of these trucks?
Do you have batteries/charger/etc already?

ThunderbirdJunkie recommends the SC10 RS. Immediately buy an RPM bumper. That's really all the truck needs to be bulletproof.

"The other one is the Blitz." At the local track, 2wd SCT is basically a 50/50 split between SC10 and XXX-SCT. You might find the odd Blitz, Ultima SC/SC-R, or LCG Slash in the mix, but 90% of the trucks are AE or Losi.

BTW, the truck he called an Associated SC10 is really a Kyosho Ultima SC. Stopped watching after that.
