Default How to make my RC faster...

Hi are there any ways I can make my Stock E-Firestorm go faster without upgrading the motor or ESC? Ive heard a lot about changing the gearing, but what gearing should i get to increase the speed? And also do LiPos increase the speed or just the run times?
many thanks

If you increase the pinion size the truck will be faster but the motor and esc will run hotter. I would not recommend going this route. Your next option is increased voltage. Going from a 6 cell to a 7 cell pack will make it faster but it will weight more. I would recommend you go to a 2S lipo. The voltage is only rated at 7.4V but the voltage does not drop as much as a NiMh pack. Really good NiMh packs actually run around 7 volts under load. Even cheap LiPo packs will maintain 7.5-7.8 volts under load so they in effect act like a 7 cell pack without the weight.
