Default Sidewinder on Rustler VXL

Hi guys!

Will this fit my rustler VXL? http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...le-1406-4600kV

I'm a basher, so if anyone knows of a better esc/motor combo, in the same price range of course, from Castle I would be happy to get some info about that too.

Thanks in advance
Kasper

That would be a perfect setup for your Rustler..

Here is a link to the Castle website for information about the setup.... http://castlecreations.com/products/sidewinder_sv2.html

There ARE less expensive systems than Castle.  Although I've had that exact system, and it was nice while it lasted, IT DIDN'T LAST. I got 6mo out of it before it fried.  Not too happy with their customer service either, basically incommunicado.
Look into HobbyWing EZrun or Xerun systems  I have an Evader, which is very much like your Rustler. I have this system
http://www.hobbypartz.com/ezrun-35a-9t-3650-motor.html  in my car now and it's every bit as fun, powerful, and adjustable as the Castle, and for HALF the price, AND you get the programming card WITH the system, not extra $$.

The Sv2 ESC with 4600kV motor is a good match for your Rustler. I have one in my Stampede and Rusty and it works great, though I'm not much of a basher, I generally drive onroad and on dirt/gravel. Yes, you can buy cheaper ESC/motor combos, but the Sidewinder Sv2 packs a pretty good punch for the price. As far as the durability, mine has worked perfect, though I do "baby" my rc's alot as opposed to beating the piss out of it. I've heard that cheap ESC/motor combos (like the one EXT2Rob mentioned) tend to have poor performance and reliability, though I've two of them, neither has crapped out on me yet.

Overall I would highly recommend it.
