My Buggy won't run in STRAIGHT LINE!
Hi Everybody,
I'm new in Electric car hobby and I have this problem with my
Tamiya Baja King Buggy which I bought with a Sanwa Blazer
Sports radio.
The buggy won't run in a straight line!,......no matter how I adjsut
the steering trim, the buggy always sway to the left or to the right. I connect the steering rod with the servo in neutral position but the buggy still sway to the left or right.
Please help me, I've tried everything but it still won't run straight.
Thanks for all your advise and inputs........

Does it have toe-in adjustments? If so, give it a bit of toe-in on both the front and rear.
Check for slop on the linkage between the servo and the rest of the steering. When powered down, can you wiggle the front wheels much without the servo moving? Also, the Tamiya servo-savers are notoriously weak... they tend introduce slop... not much you can do about that except replace it with a better unit like a Kimbrough.
If everything feels tight, and you've got a bit of toe-in, then it might be interference on your radio system. Make sure the antenna is routed properly... try to route it so it doesn't cross the wires going between the speed controller and the motor.
I'm not sure what else to suggest... just check for mechanical problems, then check for electrical problems.
Good luck!

The 1st baja king I bult had the same problem. After further investigation found the steering servo was not in the centre of the car even though it was mounted exactly as per the instructions. (perhaps servo slightly narrower than others?) The solution was to remove the servo and place 2 small washers between the servo mounting posts and the chassis. Her presto now tracks staright and true.
