Default Grease For Rustler Differential

After a few years of hard driving, I figured it was time to rebuild the transmission of my Rustler. I disassembled and cleaned the trans first, then I moved on to the diff. Once that was degreased of all the factory lubricant, I began to reassemble it. That leaves me here, contemplating my choices of grease to use. I have tons of it lying around, one of which is Super Lube.

With that said, what did Taxxas originally put in the diff? It seems they want Thrust Bearing Grease to be used, because the Traxxas planetary gear set comes provided with that, yet Tower says to "Not" use on planetary/ball diffs.

Also, what should be used on the transmission gears (idler gear, drive gear, etc.)? I have seen many people on the internet using white lithium grease for these gears.

Thanks,

Joe

Doesent really matter what grease u use. Some slash guys use wheel bearing grease and jam pack it to act I little bit like a LSD but that only asts a few runs... Personally I don't run grease in mine, mine is filled with silicon oil and I use silicon spray on the gears.

Is u look around there are some guides on how to silicon oil fill the diff... With a rustler u only need 50wt compared to a slash 100wt

the best grease i have ever used is sil-glyde, light consistancy, doesn't degrade, lubricates well, doesn't absorb moisture, doesn't melt, run or freeze, high sheer pressure, has no effect on plastic, doesn't aerate as bad, almost no scent, non detergent, and the list goes on.

i fill the case 1/2 way.

Thanks for all your input. I just finished re-installing the transmission and other components on the car. Now all it needs is a quick test drive to work everything in.
