Default Taxxas slash bearings go BOOM after 3 batteries.

I wasracing my slash 4x4 today with my buddies, and 5 laps around the track on my first battey the bearing goes to crap. I put in my spare and run 3 lipos through it. I come home and put the stock nimh battery in and as I am driving, the bearing goes out again. I should add that the first bearing i had in it had only a few runs on it.

The original stock bearing lasted a long time, butall three replacementbearings after that have only lasted 3 batterys each. What is wrong!?!?!?

Are your bearing carriers or stub axles warped?

Take off the wheels. The long shiny pieces of metal that the wheels ride on are called stub axles. The plastic pieces that hold the bearings are called bearing carriers or hubs. The stub axles go through the bearings and bearing carriers. Understand?

Ummm we must be thinking of diiferent bearings the one that keeps blowing out is the one on the slipper clutch and the bearing carrier is metal not plastic.

Think I may have found the problem. The plastic motor mount that the bearings outer race fits in to is wallowed out so the bearing has a loose fit, which, at the rpm this thing turns, would drasticly reduce the lif of the bearing. It must have wallowed out when i removed the stock bearing, since it lasted a long time and the bearings after it have lasted about three batteries each.

This has been a common problem with the Slash 4x4, and is why most people swear by the [link=http://www.kingheads.com/product_info.php?cPath=109&products_id=931]Kingheadz motor mount[/link] with the larger bearing. I've been lucky so far, I'm still on the stock one but I know it's only a matter of time.
