Default Top racing 1/10 scale short course trucks?

Hey guys I am back after a break from rc... The neighboring city has built a nice indoor dirt track and I was wondering what some top racing short course trucks (10th scale) are. I am looking at both 4x4 and 2wd trucks. Any recommendations? Thanks guys!

well this will be a short list as there are not that many

for 4X4 there is the HPI bullet ST, and uhhhh errr uhhhh I can't think of another 4wd ST....

For 2wd
traxxas rustler
HPI firestorm
Duratrax evader
ARRMA Vortex
Team Durango DEST210
Thunder Tiger Phoenix STII
ECX Circuit
Tamiya Stadium Blitzer (I think this is a ST as it looks like one)

dunno if I missed any

as for recommendations I've heard good things about the firestorm, and the evader has almost a cult like following
the team durango though probably would be best for racing based on what their kits usually are made for(but I think it also is the most expensive)

I would call up the track and ask if thy even race ST's as from my understanding most went to SCT's(short course trucks)

Opps I said stadium trucks. I meant to say short course trucks. I'm sorry! I have a traxxas slash 4x4 but its more of a bashing truck not so much of a racing truck. So I will probably sell that and buy more of a racing truck Thanks for the quick response though!

People still race ST's?!

LOL, just kidding.

Syco missed the Team associated t4. Ive had a B3 and it was a nice buggy. The t4 should be even better. More of a race oriented ST.

There is the Associated SC10 RS that's pretty nice. Also the Losi XXX SCT isn't bad.

according to the local hobby shop owner, the losi XXX 2wd is no longer going to be made.
My friend is pissed, as he bought one 2 weeks ago!
I guess they are coming out with another truck. 1st the strike gets canned, then the XXX.

I dare say they are caning it because of the TLR 22SCT, My predition is that we will see the 22SCT as a RTR

It's strang everyone knows of the losi 22, but not the 22sct, wonder why?

well the 22sct kit has been out for over 6 months now its about $370, no idea on the price od a RTR one

can only really guess, if the 22sct kit is $370 and the TEN SCTE rolling chassis is $300, one would think it might cost about the same as the RTR TEN SCTE $520

Dont think u will have to worry about parts for a long time 10years or so

how do they figure they can replace a $220 RTR truck with a $500 RTR one? Wont that leave a void in their lineup?

If the kit is $370, then could they release a dumbed down RTR version for say, $300? I mean, I know alot of RTR models there is a higher-end kit version which cost more than the RTR. Could they do the reverse with the 22? I just find it hard to understand why they would remove the "average" buyer's RTR (average buyer will spend $250 on a RTR, not $500, especially for a 2wd)

I totally understand where u are coming from, but I can see Losi side to.

IMO losi are doing it to raise the quality of there products so they dont end up like Traxxas and HPI.
I sware cheap RTR vehicles are not good for a companys image like Losi that prides it self on racing

Both are good choices. I prefer the SC10 for the durability thou I LOVE RPM PLASTIC. The Losi flexes more so it can give ya an edge.

I'm quite a Losi 22 fan myself, whichever incarnation. As for 4x4, I'd have to second the NEXX10SC, solid truck.
