Very sweet body shell on that! That's my favorite so far.

More pics!!! I might try that body with a different paint job. From the pics you posted , the wheelbase looks spot on. Is that the case?

Sorry no more pics at the moment - no time in the mornings and dark in the evenings!

Had another test on Tuesday night in a more open setting to see what the top speed was like - the 14t pinion I feel is about right as when it hits top speed its moving at a fair rate of knots! Softened the throttle curve to allow a smoother take off and softened the steering around the middle to stop any violent steering inputs - its much nicer to drive now.

Got some red LEDs coming this week to fit - will try and get some more pics this weekend

Sorry in regards to your question of wheelbase yes it is perfect - the front light sections just clear the front bumper and the rear just clears the rear bumper - in fact its so close it looks made for it! I will take some side on shots indoors tonight and post them so you can see

Ill be looking forward to the side shots. I was thinking about either the grave digger body or the hpi bounty hunter shell. That one looks spot on as well.

Finally decided on the look I want. As a kid I had this tyco ford monster truck. They dont make toy rcs like this anymore. Some of you may have had the yellow radio shack version, but it was the same (awesome) truck. 'll be headed to my lhs in a bit today to begin this simple but cool project.

Cool! Love old-school monsters! What shell are you going to use?

Fitted my LEDs last night - the Traxxas kit works out to about £17 delivered! I bought this simple harness for £2.70! Ideal for the job

Thats looking really good! Might have to grab that shell sometime. I ended up using the hpi 79 ford body. It's the same model year as the tyco. I painted it plain old black, and the decals included had stripes similar to the tyco design. I wanted to get some kwikstrip when i grabbed the body, but my lhs wanted 12 bucks a roll and I need 3 colors. If anyone has a lead on striping tape online with more reasonable price, let me know haha! Im also waiting for new white clod wheels which should be here in a few days. The ones shown in the beginning on this thread were ruined in a painting experiment

The look will be more complete when the white clod wheels come this week. I'm going for a stage 3 truck with old school aesthetics. But I am loving this body (disregard the roll cage from my bush devil 2 body, too small).

Like it! Is that a 1/10 scale body?

No, it's actually an hpi 1/8 body. Post holes on those line up perfectly. Lighting in that pic isnt good, ill post more once the wheels get here. Txt trucks aren't really 1/10 scale I don't think.

Agreed - they are 1/8.5 I think as the Digger is close but a smidge on the big side...
