dying traxxas parts

Default dying traxxas parts

im building a bandit in black and orange. how can i dye the white nylon parts
wheels
steering linkage
servo saver

I use Rit brand dye, available at many sewing and craft stores. It's available in powder or liquid form. You mix it with water and soak your parts in it while it's simmering(not boiling). Keep the parts off the bottom of the container; I hold them with a string. Make sure that you wash the parts well with soap and water. I usually just add enough dye to the water to make it a good deal darker than I want the parts to be.

ya used rit dye how it will take depends on the material
Traxxas's material they use for the chassis's seems to soak the color up FAST
I tried dyeing some other brands plastics black (OFNA, and HPI) at the same time the traxxas parts were done in like 2-3 minutes and were PURE black, where after 35-40 the others were purplish still
