Default How Many Amps Does My ESC Need?

80a esc, 120a esc, 150a esc, ect... How does somebody determine how many amps the esc needs to be? Im running a 1/8 scale buggy with a 2000kv 4 pole brushless motor with a 4s lipo. Will 80a be enough? Is 160a too much?

80amp is good for motors a little lower in kv for a 1/8 buggy. I reccomend shooting for a hobbywing 150a if you want price vs. performance. It is okay to run a larger esc than neccessary.

Alot of people recommend the hobbywing 150. Do they have pretty good warranty and support?

Idon't understand your logic, max. Wouldn't you want a higher capacity ESC for racing?

As for warranty &support on HobbyWing stuff, HobbyPartz.com is pretty good about warranty replacements. I've never had to deal with HobbyWing directly, since I've never had any problems with their products. "Manual is pretty easy to follow"?? Well, Isuppose. If you're used to reading English-as-second-language translations. It can be pretty amusing. Or confusing. But, that's why we're here, right?

ahh good question.

generally comparing bashing to when race u would run lower gearing, lower voltages and the surface has little to no resistance.
Another couple of factors... starting and stopping, punch settings, less maintained driveline...
