Sticky steering
So i purchased an rc car used and it needed a few things replaced. I got new steering components and went with aluminum. I didnt want the screws holding the pin for the block and hub to come apart so i put a little thread lock on it and i think i must have gotten a little in one of the pin holes so now that wheel wont turn with the servo and is really tight. To make things worse i cannot get the pins out now to try to clean it up. Any ideas or help would be great.

If the screws where gripping fine, why fund you use lock tight in the first place? It's hounds like you locked yourself in a tight situation, so couldn't resist that!, if you do manage it get the steering components out you might just need to screw a screw in and out to clean up the holes on the linkages..

Well i didnt want the screws to work their way out so i used thread lock to hold them in. Im not too worried about cleaning the holes if i can get them apart but there is where i am having the problem.

Hey dude, type this.....thread Lock/ Loctite Removal ANY SCREW/ BOLT - Heat method with Hot air gun.... Into YouTube and it shows a method... If you don't have a heat gun, a strong hair dryer might do the trick

The problem with force is there really isnt any way of getting to the backside of the pin to push it out, there is just a really small hole in which i have used a paperclip in the past to push the pin out but cannot get enough force to break the threadlock loose. I did try a hair dryer but didnt get it hot enough. I am going to try with a lighter i am just afraid of getting the aluminum too hot and warping it so i was hoping somebody had a suggestion on something to break down the loctite.

So i used blue threadlock but it is not a threaded pin it just slides in for the steering to pivot on the screw that screws in right next to it to hold it in came out just fine and that is what i put the thread lock on to keep from falling out. And i guess i got some on the pin that is supposed to be free spinning and now wont turn at all.

That's a very long sentence, lol.. Punctuation would make it easier to read.. I guess there is a valuable lesson you have learnt, don't do things that aren't necessary and give yourself extra work for no reason. Good luck with removing it but sounds like you have a little challenge ahead.. Hopefully you'll get it removed
