Default did i get a good deal?

Axial exo terra kit already built.
Hobbywing 8th scale 2700kv motor
Sc8 120a esc
Savox sc1256 servo
Spektrum reciver (needs remote)
Venom 2s 5000mah lipo batt.
Paid 400.

After 2 weeks of debaiting on whether or not to get the redcat mirage i saw a bunch of videos that sold me to the axial
And i figured a new one from ebay with out batt. Was 350 so i figured this would be great deal.
Was i wrong? I hope not.... Help & insight please!

if its in pristine shape hmm maybe the ESC, and motor are not cheap
think those 2 are around the $200 mark alone
Personally I wouldn't have paid that, but if you like it then that is all that matters

I love the looks of it. He said its never been ran(so he says) the pictures of it were good, i didnt see any scratches on the skid plate.
I figured since the rtr version was 350

well unless you got a spectrum radio the DX2 will cost around 30-40ish
could always just get a flysky 2.4ghz GT2 for $20ish

Like I said its not a bad deal, just its not steal either.

I have two other cars could i swap the recivers back and forth from one of those and use whay i already have or should i get a transmitter to go with the receivver?

No. 2.4 GhZ technology allows you to bind any DSM2 radio to your receiver.

I don't think so. not all 2.4ghz speak the same language....they just communicate over the same airwaves (hope that makes sense)

Onto your deal. If the kit was never run, then its a decent deal. you can get the RTR version for $300....but on a 2s lipo it will only do 30mph.
The system in yours should be capable of much higher speeds. It is closer to the system in the mirage, which does 45mph on a 3s. That system can handle 4s.
The servo upgrade is worth a bit, and so is the battery.
If you had bought it all new, I figure you would have spent $500. So you didn't get a steal, but you didn't lose money either. And in the end, you have an axial that should be capable of the speeds the mirage can do!

sorry, I saw 120amp and just assumed. but according to specs it is really 70a continuous, 520a burst and 2-3s lipo. so it wont do 3s.
I still wouldn't doubt that it can be geared for more speed than the stock exo system.

Will this system be ok for what i do? I.e. running back and forth in my dirt yard small jumps and out running 3 dogs?
I have good speed with my nitro buggy so the exo doesnt need to be really fast but alot of torque for quick get aways will be good.

your wrong the specs you are looking at are for the SC10 (guessing you looked at hobbypartz's poorly laid out spec sheet that has the SC10's specs on the SC8 page with the SC8's)
SC8 is 120A continuous, 760 burst, and uses 2-4S (I have one in my pede 4X4 as I run a 100A motor)

Not sure on the gearing but I'd assume 3S would be safe, can't say 4

I had typed sc8 120a in google and got hobbypartz.com site info...which said 2-3s.
But then I tried on ebay and see ones that say 4s.
Either hobbypartz is wrong it or it is an older version or something like that.
if the OP's look like this one, then he should be good for 4s (although, a 4s may be very hard to fit in the exo)

I know if you look though at http://www.hobbypartz.com/07e-ezrun-sc8.html site it says

1???Specification

1.1?Output:?
????????EZRUN-SC10 ESC: Continuous current 70A, burst current 520A;
?EZRUN-SC8 ESC:?? Continuous current 120A, burst current 760A;

That is cause they word for word copied the manual which is the same for both ESC's.
Its kinda why I edited my reply and put poorly laid out hobbypartz site
Its actually one thing I royally hate about hobbypartz.com they mi up specs like that its the same with the 120A EZ-runs and the 200A ones they throw em all on the 200A page for some reason

looked at it that is definitely new when the pics were taken as there isn't even the slightest scratch on the skid plate

From what is written can only say what was said before as the pics don't show any of the electronics

Side note link didn't work I had to search for the item number that was in the link you posted

Ok so i got it just now. Idk how to get the cage off and i dont have a hex wrench small enough.
I took out the battery and it looks like someone held a lighter to the side of it. Its not really badly burnt just the plastic hardcase, my charger says the batt. is ok so i would guess the battery was in a different car b4 and was too close to a motor.
The motor in the thing is freaking huge! It says hobbywing 4065 2700kv. All i can make out for esc is easy run sc8. And servo is savox sc1256tg

well can only say one thing hook a radio up and go try it to see how it runs

And yea about that cage. Honestly it was the main determining factor that made me not get that model.

I honestly dont mind it. I just dont know howw to do it yet.
I contacted the guy i got it from and he said he tested the batt and it was fine. My charger also said it was ok and has charged it already.

I'll be honest as much as I love hobbywing ESC's I don't trust their waterproof claim on any of em (its usually in the instructions)
