Default 3s lipo problem

So I put my 3s in storage mode and its been that way since like the end of january.
I pluged my volt alarm into tha bal lead and it read 9.1v and the 2nd cell was 1.7v the other 2 were like 3.15. I put I back on storage mode on my charger to see if it will be ok.
Is the batt dead or just not used enough? Ive only used it like 20 times and my exo has tge lipo cut off set for 3.2v I think so its never been over discharged. And the ac680 charger has never over charged it.

it is not good to have 1 cell that far off from the others. but I wouldn't hesitate to put it on my thunder ac6 charger and let it balance charge the pack. that low cell might bounce back and it might balance out with the other 2....or it might not. Shouldn't hurt anything to try.
sometimes a cell will just fade out. generally a cell wont come back if it gets below 2.7 or 2.8....at least not in my experience. But stick it on your charger and keep an eye on it.

Its reading 11.2 the 1st was 3.7 the 2nd 3.6 and the 3rd 3.8
Lipos piss me off. The lipos I had on my xmods didnt last long for me. I figured with a good charger and my cut off set it would last me a good while.

ah, generally the cells being .1 off is fine. I don't worry unless they are .3 or more off from one another when fully charged. I assume yours is not fully charged if it is only at 11.2. should be 12.4 fully charged.

did your charger timeout? if the cells are that close to balanced, I don't see why the pack wouldn't take a full charge.......unless the process of balancing that low cell took so long that your charger timed out before finishing charging.

is your charger reading 11.2v, or your volt alarm?

id try putting it on the charger again and watch what the voltage readout does. if you set the charger at .5c (ie, a 5000mah pack at 2.5amp, a 2000mah pack at 1amp) and if the voltage readout of the pack raises quickly to 12.4 then the pack is likely bad and false peaking. so you charger may have read 12.4 but when it stopped putting in amps the voltage then drops to 11.2v.
if the voltage slowly raises and the pack finishes charging then either balancing the cells slowed down the charging process enough to cause it to timeout, or maybe you had the charge rate low enough that it couldn't fully charge the pack in time.

I turned the time out off on my charger. For storage it only goes to 2amps it takes it like aan hour from when my esc turns off fr a day of use. From storage to full charge it normally takes an hour and a half(maybe a bit less) it will go to 6ampswhen balance charging to to full power.

Make that 12.6V fully charged.

How old is the lipo? What brand? Sounds like to me it's either a) a cheap lipo with poor quality cells or b) just getting old. You sound like you're doing everything right. However, if you do plan to store them for long periods of time in the future, store them in a lipo bag in the refrigerator. The cold is better for the batteries. Read this. It explains a lot behind how the batteries are functioning internally and may help make sense of some things: http://batteryuniversity.com/learn/a...tore_batteries
