Default Jeep Brute Double Cab

http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/gener...e-rigs-19.htmlSOMEONE BEAT ME TO IT!!!!!HERE IS WHAT I STARTED ON THE BUILD 2 1/7 YEARS AGO.So to make this happen you need to cut behind the door and add 1.5"-2" and made a new bed, here is a picture of a FJ40 that shows what I mean. The custom frame will be Aluminum and will be set up much like RCMODELex sets up his drive train.

I will also change the rear window. I will look like the real truck. You can see that I cut the plastic off the running boards and read bumper. I will be using a scale motor cover to show off the drivetrain under the hood muck like my JK 1/6 build. All these pictures are old 2-3 yrs so when I restart I will post current ones. I have a build that I'm working on currently.

It's hard to see because of the protective cover on the Lexan but the window is in. I have more to do such as cut the center out and add rails on the edges and trim around the frame. and lots of sanding. Oh by the way my fingers never get tired of sanding because I wrap sad paper around the hacksaw blade and use it as my finger. Try it it will save time and it is clean way to get even sanding done.

Here is some more detail of the rear window. I will add more out side edging to the window just before paint.I had to cut the reat seat to make a notch so that the track for the window would fit. I also added a slight bend in the upper part of the seat. I looks better, (sporty).

The solid aluminum chassis is under construction. The ls motor looks cool but is a pinch on the small size because it' 1/12 scale.[URL=http://s628.photobucket.com/user/Jack59/media/XJ%20Pickup/002_zps84beed8e.jpg.html]

That is some nice work! I'm always impressed when you guys do custom, hand made stuff like this.

What really interests me is the mechanicals. Where do you get that stuff? transfer cases, transmissions, diffs. What did you lift the Corvette motor cover from?

I have the RC4WD T1 Disruptor Black Transfer Case (2.18:1 Gearing) and a set of drive shafts JUNFAC HARDENED UNIVERSAL SHAFT (95-130MM) 5MM HOLE on the way also. And some more WHITE STYRENE on the way. should be another week before the parts show up.

This is the reason I didn't do the long bed. I wanted the frame to work with this body also. It's going to be a FJ 43 ICON when it's done. the light bucket are Proline and the front floor has been modified also. It will have a roll cage and removable hard top. I need to come up with some working tail light lens. Any ideas?

I did get some of the bed pieces in. I'm waiting on the thinner sheets to come in.

This is my take on a clean snorkel mount. I will give it more detail when the paint is going on. I will also use a zip tie with the roof rack.

The .030 styrene came in today.I have a little bit more to tidy it up and file and smooth the edges. I wil use 3M bed liner spray to finish.I have the coolest paint job for this DBL Cab build. I will be very different than any that's ever done.

I started on the cage/roof rack and It's turning out to be a big pain in back side. Its also adding weight that I'm not fond of also. :banghead:
