Newbi troubles ECX Torment no power to motor
Just purchased a ECX Torment for Christmas and it worked great for one time then i recharged the batteries and hooked it all up and all i can do is turn the front wheels with the transmitter, I pull the trigger and no power to the rear wheels with no sounds just lights flash on the receiver on the truck. Any ideas on how to trouble shoot it. I have a volt meter and basic understanding but need help to diagnosis.

When you take the body off, there should be a blue drive shaft that goes from the front gearbox to the rear gearbox. Remove the gear cover that covers the pinion gear (gear on the motor) and the spur gear (gear on the blue driveshaft). After removing this cover and possibly another cover, you should be able to see where the blue driveshaft goes into the rear gearbox. Plug in your battery and hit the throttle so the front wheels spin. Does the blue drive shaft spin where it goes into the rear gearbox?
Also while hitting the throttle, watch to see if either of the drive shafts that go from the rear gearbox to the wheels spin. Do they?
When your hitting the throttle, do you hear any grinding noises coming from the rear gearbox? Like gears being shredded or a loud whining/screeching?

Needs to be recalibrated. Straight from the manual;
1. Power off the ESC.
2. Ensure your
transmitter is
powered on, the
throttle is not
reversed, the
throttle trim is
neutral and the throttle travel range is at 100%. Disable any
special functions such as ABS, etc.
3. Press the SET button while powering on the ESC. Release the
button as soon as the green LED starts to flash.
4. Calibrate the throttle points by pressing the SET button once after
each step.
•
Neutral point
(1 flash) — leave the throttle at rest, untouched
•
Full throttle
(2 flashes) — pull the throttle fully back
•
Full brakes/reverse
(3 flashes) — push the throttle fully forward

Where is the set button? There is a bind button on the transmitter. The manual says to insert the bind plug into the bind port on the receiver. What is a bind plugabs where is the bind port?
Then is says to power the receiver through any other port. Then the orange LED will flash on the receiver.

Humm, don't see one. It is possible the ESC might be fried. Contact Horizon Hobby and tell them your problem. You can probably get a new ESC from them for free, as they have exceptional customer support.

If you can steer, it the radio is already bound. Normally the receiver would be a separate unit from the ESC, in this case it's all in one.
Collector: What page did you pull those instructions from?

I just found this from the ESC's manual. The first part sounds about right:
The Overload Protection could be enabled. Could you take some pictures of the motor wiring?
Also make sure all your batteries are charged in both the truck and the transmitter.

No problem. Sounds like either your ESC or motor blew up. Call them up tomorrow, tell them your situation and setup, they should understand that you did everything right and ship you out some warranty parts. Good luck man!
