Default New SCT in the stables

Just picked up a Losi xxx, my first SCT. Dang fun to drive.
It will be torn down and setup to run the modified class at the local oval running a Sidewinder 3 5700 and an Adam Sippel body.

Looks like a hoot to try out on an dirt oval! Turn up the AVC and crank it left! I always wanted to try that technology on my "squirrely" driving style... as I run my RCs with medium compound tires; compromising with less grip to save on buying rubber every other week (my track likes to eat tires). Maybe post how the AVC helps you in your quest for LTO supremacy. And Castle's 5700kv motor will propel that Losi nicely...should be stupid fast .

Well AVC has to be disabled, it's illegal to run on any track BUT.... I tested it yesterday on the private track and it's stupid fun.
It straightens your launches a ton and can really help on a slick surface, it would be awesome for drifting.

Right now I'm looking for a hex conversion for the front hubs so I have a better choice of wheels.

Seems like it might be pretty slow and always struggling for traction, compared to your Firestorm Flux... No? (don't forget to update your < My Models page...)

Well it is slower but the reason for getting it, is this is what is required to run the class it has to be a SCT wheel base.
After the 5700 goes in it and the tires JConcepts Subcultures Short Course Tires/Green, I am also switching to TLR shocks and going from a 25 to a 21 pinion gear for smooth transitions off the corner.
It will out handle my Flux by allot when I'm done with it.
Flux is gonna get changed over to a drift machine or basher speed demon lol.

Just an update- The Tazer 3300kv motor just gave up today. I had tried many different gears to try and keep the dang thing cooler but no go, anywhere from 16t to (25t which it comes stock). No matter what I ran it was cooking hot at 5 minutes. For oval track purposes I think I am going to have to go to a bigger motor, I was set on the 5700 but I tried one today and it would need dialed way down on the travel to say 1/2 throttle max.

I am thinking a Castle Sidewinder v3 4600kv may run a bit cooler as I won't have the throttle pegged as much? Stock spur and a 19t pinion?

Think Pro-line or J-concepts used to offer a hex conversion. Castle 4600 is a beast but those sidewinders are simply unreliable. RC Gear shop 80amp esc paired with that 4600 would be nasty. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXETYE&P=ML

Why you get the XXX and not the 22SCT or Blitz flux ?

I haven't had an issue (yet) with the sidewinder .
The xxx was the only thing the local shop had in stock. I had gone in to buy a TASC10 but they were sold out and I had a race in 3 days so I didnt do much research.
If I had, I would have ordered a TASC10 or the 22 and just sat out that week. I didn't know the Losi was that long in the tooth lol, but it is darn fun so I am not disappointed.

I upgraded : TLR shocks
TLR EA3 front and rear arms
Springs
repacked the differential
I went ahead and got the V3 57000+ESC in case I run modified class
running JC Subcultures on DE rims
Radio switched to Spektrum DX4C

Sweet bro, long as your happy is all that matters. XXX was/is a great platform and I personally believe on real dirt it is simply better than the 22. Just my opinion

Ya I'm racing real dirt oval running the stock spur and 21t pinion on 2s 70c 5000mah, it scoots. This will be the real tryout this weekend with the 5700 setup, just might need to dial it down a bit.
