Default Newbie needing help

Got my son a Redcat Volcano EPX for Christmas. He loves it but proceeded to run it in a wet field.

So the manual is full of admonitions to clean and lube the bearings. The problem is, there's absolutely no instructions or illustrations about where the bearings are located. The parts list doesn't have a single part listed as a bearing, none on the exploded drawings, either.

I looked on Redcats site, all their tutorials refer to nitro cars.

Any help much appreciated!

Not sure about the steering assembly using any bearings/bushings. I assume there should be some type of bushing used on the steering/servo saver posts. Just taking a quick glance at some numbers and descriptions, I think Redcat uses the term "oil bearings" for what most of the industry refers to bushings. I believe Redcat uses a mixture of both bushings and ball bearings on the Volcano. Normally, bushings are made of a oil impregnated soft metal (bronze?), and their performance is not as good as a ball bearings. They will wear out over time; slop will begin to set in, and eventually they will need replaced.

Awesome, thanks Rusty!

So would it be possible/practical to replace the bushings with the same size ball bearings?

Absolutely.

Replacement for 5x10x4 (need 4, part #02080); http://www.fasteddybearings.com/5x10...ing-mr105-2rs/
Replacement for 15x10x4 (need 1 lot of 4, part #02079); http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/1819380...chn=ps&lpid=82

All other bearings in that car are actual bearings.
