Default Troubleshooting New Tacon Soar Brushless

Hi everyone, I could use some help troubleshooting my Tacon Soar. I've only used it about 3 times since I only just bought it. The other day it started making a straining noise. When I just run the motor it has no problem. When I put in the slipper very loosely it runs smooth. One tire connected runs fine. Two+ and it starts cogging on low throttle and sounds strained when I accelerate. Ive taken apart everything but the motor. Its a 2838 4500kv brushless motor and a Tacon ESC. It started happening for no known reason. I've only run it on pavement. Any ideas?

The motor and/or ESC sounds at fault here. I am thinking ESC, but you can't really tell unless you try another motor.

I was thinking the same thing. I bought it from nitrorcx and their return policy is crap so i was hoping it be fixable not replaceable.

Check for loose or faulty connectors between the motor and ESC. If you have to replace it, I'd suggest the Hobbywing 4300kv 35Amp ESC combo.http://www.hobbypartz.com/ezrun-35a-...FU1rfgodNkEMbQ. It's only $76 and that motor is surprisingly powerful.

yeah I went through everything inside and out. Its either the motor or esc. Ill end up just buying a new one. Im worried about the size of the esc and motor for my buggy though. Would it operate well on 2000mah without the fan? I doubt I could fit that under the shell.

Yup, without fan should be fine. Let us know how it is and we can help you mount it with the fan if needed.

I doubt the ESC would mind running w/o the fan. It's a pretty efficient little system. It should be fine.

Is that a good website? And by good I mean is it amazon good. Where you can get great shipping prices and returns are as easy as requesting a live chat and them refunding your money and shipping cost? I got recommended to nitrorcx and their website and service is garbage.

Hobbypartz is NitroRCX, I think. As far as Amazon good goes, there is always Amazon, lol.

I am never doing business with nitrorcx or any of its affiliates again. Any other replacement suggestions from a reputable company?

I posted a link to Amazon, not sure if you saw it or not.

HobbyPartz and NitroRCX are one and the same. Yeah, they've got a peculiar way of dealing with the public (the online ticketing system, no phone contact) but the only time I ever had a warranty issue, they took care of me. And then some. My only issue with them is when something is out of stock, they take forever to get it back in stock.

Hobbywing products are great. Can't beat the value.
