Default Rustler Gearing with Brushless Motor

Hello, my question is: what spur gear, or pinion/spur combo is best with the Velineon brushless motor with 3500 esc. I don't need to go 70mph; just a good middle-of-the-road gearing set up to go fast, but not over heat the motor. I'm not yet using a Lipo battery. Thanks for any help!

I'd say a 18/76 setup would be good. Heck, even stock gearing for the XL5 is good.

Thank you collector1231, I'll give the stock gearing a try first. If I feel like an upgrade, I'll switch to 18/76.

Some pinion/spur combos will not fit due to the motor/mounting plate physical limitations. I'd download the Rustler VXL's manual for recommended gearing.
