What made me laugh the hardest is they include a brushed motor in the kit and instead of including a brushed esc they included a brushless ESC in the kit. (shrug)

Right you are! It was always my understanding that brushless and brushed ESCs were not to be mixed (shrug)

My wife was just talking about co-worker's son who likes trucks. He is going to Monster Jam and is excited. A big yellow RC dump truck would be a great present for any kid; at any age. 
I know I would have been in heaven if I had one of these dump trucks back in the day to play in the dirt with.
