Default Traxxas vxl VS Reedy 550 motor

Hello Rc family.
I have a new vxl 2wd slash , I was wondering what motor would work best for me bashing / speed runs.

my reedy motor has 3500kv - Im not to sure what this new vxl motor kv is.....

Basically I wanna do at least 40-45 on a baseball field if I can..

from what I read the VXL is 4000kv

anyways generally brushless is normally superior for speed runs as you can also go up higher in voltage.

I cant remember if they are 3500 or 3800kv . A friends Bandit ( same trans and motor ) does 60 on 3S , so 40 on 2S lipo should be doable . Up the pinion a tooth or 2 should see you close to 45 .

I put a Reedy Brushless in a UDR that I built all custom with lotta metal parts and to save some $$$ went with reedy brand... My conclusion thus far... It's just as good powerwise as the velineon or mamba motors in my opinion. Let's see how long it'll last ???
