Could end up being a money pit then
Have got the old laptop working again, talking about your post the other day, it's a fairly good spec one but does need some RAM.
Probably get into using it again instead of sitting at the PC.

hi ian
lol look at it this way if you use the laptop it will keep your legs warm when its a cold night
yes that car could be a money pit
but it could also be like my bycmo
a one off that never needs anything
you could use the radio gear from you exrta bycmo and the extra servo from your bycmo
you need to find out as much as you can about it
what make is it
what model is it
do you trust the seller ?
has it any damaged or worn out parts
what condition is the engine in
has he used after run in it
is the front shaft with the car is it lost
if its a old car it may be hard to find spare parts for like my kyosho big brute
thats the reason it doesnt get used anymore

Yes Dus, I painted the wheels black, he said he wanted black wheels and was so dissapointed with the grip from those 12mm silver wheels...grip is brilliant with the bycmo tyres.
I can get the power down but it's better if he has grippier tyres than me for controlling the car better.
New bumper is sorted and will probably use the cars on Sunday if it's dry.
Your truck meet has got a good turnout hasn't it. Considering this is only the what...4th meet?
Not seen all videos yet. Pics are awesome.

hi ian
dose that mean that your both not happy with the convertion then??
dont you local model shop sell black rims on there own ?
speaking of the truck meet i was talking to the guy who owns the truck forum (and who really got me into the trucks) about our meet
and he said that the truck meets will only get bigger
as time goes on as word, video's and photo's will show people what is what with our meets
it seems to be working

Local model shop is a fair bit away and they arent very helpful at all...I feel that they think I should be thanking them to buy stuff.
Very happy with the 12mm conversion still yes
Just that in future I'll try and pick a tyre that looks like it will grip pretty well.
Also it was fun painting the wheels and they were cheap anyway....just sort of came along so ended up buying them. They were the ebay ones Dus.
You are onto something with the truck meet yes deffo, looked very busy.
Will still convert sons but when he needs some new wheels

RE: Subaru Impreza WRC 1/10 Bycmo
Only problem now is I don't know how to use it or even start it up Need some fuel but could only get a large tin for £20, thing is need to check it all works fine 1st, so a small shot would be handy, may check Halfords tomorrow.
Checked all electrics and no probs at all. This is the 1st time I have ever looked at a nitro car properly at all so will be learning from zero.

hi ian
you are more jammie that a jam factory
the rush is a good a place as any to start
its only a single speed but thats a good thing for a beginner
dont want to much speed until you know you can handle something faster
there is no reverse what size is the engine
is there good compression
it will either be pull start or rota start
i will have another look at it again
did it come with a glow starter and charger

It's got a pull start Dus dude. Have looked through the spare parts but can't see anything like they show on the outside of the box.
On the box it says about a glow plug igniter and some other thing beggining with " fuel " but other writing is missing.
How do you check compression?

Little video of electrics, bit dark, sorry.
It is all in excellent condition, not been used much at all. The controller looked like the sticker was peeling but it was a protective sticker.

hi ian
you will need a glow starter have a look at this kit
280440315397
it comes with glow starter, fuel bottle, Charger and the wrenches for wheel nuts and glow plug
you will need glow plugs for a t15 engine and spare glow plugs
it looks like you will need some tube from the exhaust pipe to the top of the furl tank
just pull the pull start put a finger neer the exhaust pipe and see how it feels
if it feels slack it needs the engine stripping down fixing or replacing
if you know who had it ask them what fuel it was run on i would say get 16%(or grade 16)
depending on who the maker is
as long as they didnt use 20+ or blue thunder
the 20 will make the car run very fast but it takes its toll on the engine
and blue thunder is just crap

Try it now.
Hopefully will work.
Thanks for the link, will hope the engine is ok. How long does an engine last with usual sort of use? Probably a silly question as it depends how it is treated but just normal use. Compession seems ok.

hi ian
depending how you treat the engine it could last for years
but if you run it at high speed so it tops out every time you use it
it could be a matter of months
after each full days run use after run in it
and leave it to cool down between runs
as with all nitro cars there will be a day that you will find getting parts very hard
as the car will be out dated
has the engine been run in properly by that i mean wheels off the ground engine
on tick over for so many tanks of fuel if not that will shorten the engine life
