I would go a 17t instead of the 19t. I had a 17t in mine before i went brushless and the truck went real good

I am real tired of axle problems and I know I am going to be told to set my slipper clucth but I am going to get a set of cvd axles or something of the sort. I am looking right now at the MIT 08123 set. Any pro or cons on them?

No but I've heard they're very good. And by the way they are MIP, not MIT

I am using the MIP set works quite well nice and solid under aceleration just make sure to use lock tight on all the set screws they like to back out if you do not.  I had missed one when I put them together and it did in one pack.   Sure enough it was one that was hard to get to..

For 17T motors look for team orion motors.

My Rustler was all original Gen1 up to two years ago when local track opened up.   Was running it on the track when the track owner said that I can go full out and well I was.   Well that was the start of the upgrading.

Yes I did, I used it on the front, it gave the front the same track as the rear. That way u can run any wheels and don't have to worry offsets, just run the same on the front as the rear

Mip, Yea that's what I meant to type! Big fingers ya know! I put a mamba Max Pro in my Rustler and just couldn't resist dropping a 4S in her. Results were not pretty! Ripped a tire slam off the rim, glue and all, snapped a steel out-put yoke and ripped the rear shock off the rear A-arm. May-be when my Foam street tires,Jaco, come in I will try again. But man was that thing getting it right befor it came apart!!! Speed cost alot!!!

you need to adjust your setting in your esc im running a 4 pole monster truck motor in my rustler thats the same as a mamba monster and i use 3s and 24/36 gearing i use the slash 4x4 hd driveshafts and anaconda tires i have hit speeds 65+ and the driveshafts are fine you might want to adjust your slipper clutch also i tape my tires really good to prevent ballooning to a point

Default RE: Official Rustler Thread

Hey guys, long time rustler and al around traxxas owner. Been running my gas trucks and a week ago decided to start messing with the vxl. I originally bought the fast lane upgrade kit that came with front and rear a arms and front bulk head. Also came with the cvd axles. The axles didnt fit right and the camber was way to too far in the opposite direction so changed it back to stock. This was all 3 years ago. I went and got a few new lipos including a 11.1v venom and now the parts replacing has begun all over again. I thought about buying the integy all aluminum kit on ebay for 129 but it doesnt come with the cvds. My question is, should i just buy that kit and replace the aluminum parts i already have and buy a new cvd kit or just buy the cvd kit first. Funny to say this but money is not an issue. I want to make this thing ridiculously bash able and ive been out of the game for so long i would rather get some help from people up to date on the best parts. Also, with that kit i bought, the steering servos linkage hits some of the front pieces and gets hung up. Is there upgraded linkage i could get? Last question is i have the 2055 servo in it. I know the 2070 is in my revo but is there a better one now or would the 2070 be good for the rusty. Thanks for any help

Don't get all alum one it cost too much and two one good hot and it bends. If you want get rpm parts there way better. Or boil the plastic one for a.few and away you go.

+1 on the RPM. Aluminium may be pretty but RPM holds up to the toughest beating I can give it. And if you do break it they will replace it!!
