i think im gonna need the stock gear cover though bc im running a pretty crazy setup , mamba 5700kv on a 3s lipo and if the 90t spur wont fit in the rpm one then im outa luck with that , the motor gets hot sometimes. I did open it up and there was some dirt in there , that does kinda suck . were is it coming in through the spot were you adjust the slipper? bc thats sealed with a lil cover
No it's the part by the output yolk. there is a slot.

Big deal, i dont even use a gear cover. Its just another 2 screws i have to take out. I have been running on this spur for over 2 months now in dirt/dust/gravel and anything else you can think of. Its not that big of a deal to run without a gear cover. Same with my brother, he has not been using a gear cover either and still no problems. The only time i ever wreck a spur is when im jumping and i was jumping the other day and surprisingly no stripped gears.
whenever i go in the dirt i get little rocks/dirt in the spur/pinion gear. then every time it hits that spot you hear a noise. i will try running without it next time. hey fuse, we both have a problem. you strip spurs and i trip stub axels!

Guys, I was being stupid last night and dremeled off the pegs where you screw on the vxl chassis in hopes of it being able to be succesfully mount onto the shock tower. Well now I don't want to do that anymore and I'd like to use the stock method. Would double sided tape work? I mean I'm taking on 4 foot jumps at 20 or so mph getting 6+ feet of air. It's a bumpy ride. Will it be enough?

Is there anyone who makes a different battery bar hold down for the stampede ? , The stock one is kinda big and bulky and it doesn't fit the right way with my reciever. Can anyone reccomend a better one that will fit the stock battery posts? Thanks

All I do is use some nice Velcro battery straps. You can wrap them all the way under the truck... Its simple and you can double side tape your rx

The Rustler/Bandit battery hold down will not fit on a Stampede.

What you want is this: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXTKH3

Can someone here reccomend a better servo saver for the 2070 traxxas servo , i took the pede out today and withen the first 5 minutes(smalljump) the wheels were turnt to the right , before i went out it was centered perfectly , it also feeles like its binding a lil or something because i can turn the wheels all the way and then some but its not hitting anything on the car , just that plastic creeking sound. i thought these things were built tough or maybe i have a problem. Any help would be great Thanks

is that the one to use for the pede , and also it says it has to be used with metal gears , the gear on the outside of the servo that connects to that is plastic, does that matter? Thanks

OK I have had it with ripping up my body and tranny case...im getting a swami bar. They seem to be pretty strong. I need the laid back version but my question is do I really need the deflector or are the skid plates good for now?

Because i bought the truck as a roller and i had a mamba system in my b4 and it was to fast for it so i took it out and put it in the pede and i am going to put a novak system and trinity motor that i have in my b4 instead so i can use the b4 at the track.

Wow! I also just broke my servo. Or did I? Can someone verify if I broke the servo or not? Because I always thought that because the 'pede has no bellcrank system, it didn't have a servo saver... explain plz?

You broke your servo.

That white round thinger that attaches to your servo and steering links is the servo saver. You should be able to see the spring inside it.

Well then! What servo should I get? Best bang for my buck, please. I've got little money to spend, like 30-40 dollars is my max atm, just bought a set of big bores and some other bells/whistles.

Thanks.

Wow, I thought that was the whole point of the servo saver; to save your servo. I've never broken the XL-5 servo and I cannot imagine how you broke the VXL servo. Try getting a metal geared one.
