I was selling titanium ones for a while . I was practically giving them away for 20 bucks, 5 shipping. I quit doing it though. Not many people seemed to want them . I have had mine for 2 years now and using brushless with 3s. It is just a skid that keeps the wheelies right, it has scratches but it has lasted and never bends. Oh and the best part is that it throws a 5 foot shower of sparks out the rear of my trucks .
Diesnt that make a LOT of noise? btw did i make them by urself? when did u exactly stop selling them (ive read back a few hundred pages[img][/img])

I made them myself. You wont find any posts about them. Your not allowed to sell on the forums so they either get deleted or I don't even bother.

Basically, yoiu will need a complete rear end. Personally, I think you would be better off selling your truck and buying a truck that was designed for 4WD.

I put the locked rear back on and geared down a little (Still need down more) then went mudding today and snapped a few. It's overcast so the lighting sucks bad. Plus Iwas driving and shooting.

I agree on the pic sizes.

Gameover, nice pics though.

This would be a very good reason to convert the Stampede to 4wd.

Here is a fair size for a pic. Just click to enlarge and click again to resize to normal.

What are you guys on........DIALUP?

I did resize them otherwise unless you got a 21+ inch screen your going to be scrolling.

but yeah I fixed um. Now you don't get to see them all.

I actually started the 4wd conversion yesterday . Had the trans mounted already but decided not to do it. It would be different if I had ALL of the items I need to complete it . Plus id rather have a crawler/mudder. It could be in the future though since I do have almost another complete roller.

Thanks, that's alot better. I'm on Cable and it is very fast. I just think it's silly to have such large pics loaded. I also think it looks neater when they are all organized right beside each other and we can just enlarge the ones we want to.
That is why mine are always this big. It is very easy to just click it to enlarge it. Maybe everyone don't want to see it enlarged and I know that.

Here are our 3 Stampedes. The blue VXL is mine...fresh out of the box. The black VXL is my oldest son's. The red XL-5 is my youngest son's. There are two neighbor kids that have Rustlers and a third with an RC18T. It is mayhem when the ramp comes out.

ok going to do a revamp on the pede and need a good mortor esc combo. I had the novak havoc 8.5 in the pede when it was stock. It was fast but after about 20min I would always get the "possible thermal shutdown code". I figured the kv(5000) was a lil high for the tire size. So now Im thinking about the built ballistic 10.5. 4200KV I really liked the driveability of the novak and have a vxl thats coming out of the pede. Need suggestions here guys

Thanks

DId you try gearing down to solve the over heating problem?

Going down in kv will also help the problem. A lower kv geared up is better than a higher kv geared down. But you really need to find the sweet spot. I would say that 4200 kv is a good choice for the pede. Also, getting a larger can will help. gen an L size motor and you can get lower kv and a larger pinion and it will have torque and top end like crazy.
Here is the motor I recommend
http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...?prod=fei-540L
the 5th one down. I put one on my E-Savage and it was easy and a very nice running motor. I have run feiago motors in my boats for a long time, very durable.

Has anyone put a heatsink/fan on the Titan 12T? I know it has an intergal fan but with running short distances or climing type running it gets pretty hot since the motor dosen't run very fast or long enough at higher rpms to really cool it.

I haven't considered it because of the motor protector plate. A heat sync with fan won't fit. I will just burn my motor out and put something better on later.

Hey guys new to the forum and to the RCthing. Picked up a RTR Stampede XL-5 for my stepson. He's 12 and starting to get interested in cars and working on stuff, thought this would be a great start for him. Myself I've never really had a chance to play with them, seeing as Ihave my own fullsize toy to play with

So far I've been reading everything Ican find on the Pede. We've puchased a couple upgrades so far, RPMbumper and someBadland 2.8's,also picked up a16T pinion. Also looking at getting another battery or 2 with a decent charger. Really looking for some suggestions on battery andthe charger. Don't think we plan on going Lipo, so don't need a dual type charger.

Eventually, we plan on doin most of the standard up grades, wheel bearings, shocks, adj suspension stuff, etc, but taking things slow.

I'll have somepics up soon as Iget everything put on and mounted. Great forum

Hi Pededriver, and welcome to RCU. The Stampede is the perfect starter vehicle, in my opinion. Rugged, good ground clearance, fast, and simple.

Consider getting a charger that will support LiPo, as it will only cost you an extra $15-20 now. Here's a good quality charger for $55 that supports LiPo, if you ever go that way:
http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...LiPo-NiMH-NiCd

The Traxxas EZ Peak costs only $35, but they're out of stock on it now:
http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...rent-Connector

Here's a similar charger by MRC that's only $33. Just plug the pack in and it starts charging automatically:
http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...-NiCD-and-NiMH

The Duratrax Onyx chargers are very popular; their basic one is only $40:
http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...t-Peak-Charger

Any of the above three chargers is about the same.

As for battery packs, I was poking around on amazon the other day, and found this excellent deal
http://www.amazon.com/3800mAh-Power-...=28I78N2NAL6TG

Consider the charger a freeby. It only charges at 1.8 A, which will take over two hours to charge one of those packs.

These packs are a decent deal, but 3000 mAh should be the absolute minimum capacity you go with, as you don't want less than 10 min. runs.
http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...nnector-IB3000

I've got four of these packs, and really like them. They give me about 14 minute runs on my XL-5 Stampede. They're back-ordered at the moment though.
http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...tor-72V-3600mA

Here's a decent 7 cell pack. Notice it is the hump type, which is the only type that will fit in the Stampede without modifications. This will give higher speeds than a 6 cell pack. If you run it the same speed, it will give longer runtimes than a 6cell pack of the same capacity:
http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...or-84V-3300mAh

Have fun. I'll be you find yourself wanting one of these too before long, despite having a full size one to play with. These can be played with in a lot more places and for a lot less money, hehehe. Plus, it is a good bonding experience for you and your stepson to go bashing around together.

Oh, one other thing: Before you do anything else, put a set of ball bearings in the truck. The bronze bushings will cause parts to wear and become sloppy before long. At that point, adding ball bearings will not remove the sloppiness. Also, ball bearings = longer runtimes for "free."

You don't have to pay Traxxas prices for ball bearings either. Just search ebay for 'stampede ball bearing' and you can probably get a set for $15 or so.
