Welcome back! You might remember me as Ka-boom?

Thanks! Sure I remember Ka-boom-- It's nice to see some familiar faces still around.
I wish it wasn't so cold outside. Even the near indestructable stampede gets brittle in the below freezing temperatures. I'm waiting on new caster blocks... hehe. [>:]

My button on my ESC is stuck down. How do I get it unstuck?
Mine did the same thing a few days ago. I took it apart thinking I had some dirt in there making it stick. What I found out was that I had to leave the two screws on the button side of the ESC slightly loose to prevent the switch from binding. Not too loose or anything, just about 1/4 from being seated up.

Mine is double sided taped... I don't want to take it appart if I don't have to. I have never touched those screws, could they have tightend themselves?

I tried that and It didn't seem to help much. I didn't notice a diffrence at all. I took the ESC appart, and made the hole a little bigger. It's installed back into the truck and It's ready to run.

Unfortunetly, It started raining tonight..... I guess no more truck until next weekend[&o]

Not my idea, but a good one. I called up Traxxas and they said I had two basic options. Send it in and pay for someone to make the hole bigger, or do it myself. I didn't want to have to pay them, or wate for them, so I just pulled it open.

In the few days that I have to clean my truck while it's raining, I think I want to do some cleaning.

I wonder how long the idler gear will last if I put a 3300KV (6 cells) BL in it with the plastic idler.

It does. You don't need to buy a new one,but it don't come off or on the shafts very easily. It's like a press fit, had to use a socket a little smaller than the gear to hammer it off.

I just installed the brushless in the pede (3300Kv) and it's geared 18/90 because that's the largest pinion I had. With that gearing, the torque doesn't seem that high and the top end is really bad (equal to or less than brushed). Would my torque change with a 21t pinion or 23t?

Edit: Just calculated that 24/90 would be a 10.28:1 final drive ratio. The brushless was previously in a redcat volcano (volcano had 10.3:1 ratio). The volcano was 4WD so if the ratios are equal (almost), should the pede have more torque because it's 2WD?

Put SMALLER pinion on! -13-15t should be good starting point.

It's only 3300Kv. People are gearing the 3500KV VXL at 31/76!!!

13t-15t seems very low for that kv motor. A higher pinion will NOT give you more torque pede kid. It will give you less.

For speed runs, not every day use.

Yeah, but still it can be geared higher than a 15t pinion.

Right now, heat is extremely low. After a pack of 4200mAh tenergy (I know it's not a good pack), the esc was at 99 degrees and the motor was at 110.
