probably. I cant see how you are having that many problems. Get a better battery. My stampede will turn around on my sidewalk and with power it will turn around in my street. But it took me a year to set it up right. Maybe you have it turned down on your radio. I also have a digital servo and the futaba fasst system though

Redvan, I know 40 in the front and 30 in the rear used to be real popular...its a good place to start. 30 is a little soft though if you're jumping at all so i've changed to 50 front 40 rear with losi green springs on front and trinity MAXX springs on the rear, very plush ride but very firm for the jumps [>:]

I have found if you go too much higher than 30 wt with the stock shocks, the caps will blow off on any less than perfect landing from a decent size jump. I've been using 35 wt all around and I like the way it handles like that - stock springs, btw.

maybe its on the radio, but im just work with horrible steering for a while, like you said just get it set up and just work with it and then buy a rustler roller. thanks for all of the help. i've been so busy but i just turned in my 30 page essay that i have been working on since september so the loads got a little easier. lol

+1 for that. However i use the slash springs in the front. I did have them on the rear also but they are to soft so i changed them back to the stockers. I have big bores though so caps dont pop off anymore.

My semester finals are priority at the moment, but my big bores are expecting some new losi green and blue springs, ae 50 wt oil, and some new shaft ends to accommodate the stiffness. I hope I can start the rebuild soon [sm=rolleyes.gif]

i dont want to buy 2 diffrent shock oil bottles, one 40 and one 35 or 30, i herd the stock stampede runs on 30wt oil and thoes white springs, that was a good suspention set up, it was really plush and could wheelie in the grass with its titan 12t, i dont jump way high, 5-6 feet is as much as i feel comfortable, other then that i just rip speed runs, i put down big bores and red springs and 30wt oil, is there better springs to use?, dual rate maybe? that will fit big bores

A good shock oil to hang around is 45 wt. Most losi springs will fit it (2.5/ 2.75 inch ones meant for their st's) and the slash progressive springs will also work.

Well guys, I'll be reverting my lowered 'pede to its good old self at 4 inches of gc. For bashing, I just don't see a lowered 'pede worth it, mainly because I hate hearing my chassis smack the dirt, asphalt, concrete, and any other type of ground...

Lowered 'Pede:

I will post progress pictures within next few days. Losi shocks, new shaft ends, and associated 50 wt oil are awaiting.

I put fuel tubing on the shock shaft, the portion inside the shock body that is. The length is the variable, so the more you put in, the lower it sits.

the first thing i noticed was the beefy chassis and parts wow. this thing looks like it can take some abuse. then i held the truck about one foot off the ground and let it go making sure it was even so all four wheels hit the ground at the same time. i held the truck higher and higher each time till the chassis hit the floor. i did this to get a round about height that the truck can jump and land in the safe zone. if the shocks don't fully compress the landing was fully absorbed by the shocks..(the safe zone).. which turned out to be 2 feet.. yes i did test just the front landing and just the rear landing cause not all jumps land on all fours.. just the front safe zone 1 foot also for just the rear.. i'm not going to test one wheel at a time cause that's just bad driving altogether [sm=confused_smile.gif]

i did this test with my hornet and well - lets not go there

this is just a good rule of thumb for me not a fact nor expected to be followed by anyone but it works when your running all stock..

Hey guys. I got the shocks rebuilt with 50 wt oil, new shaft ends, and losi springs. Just have to finish tuning them to my liking with the pre-loader clips.

Hah. So what's your opinion on rebuilding shocks? I think it's horrible! Especially waiting for the air bubbles to rise when using a heavier shock oil. I'm glad I only have to do this every so often. Gotta love 'em big bores

Here's a clearer picture:

Edit: Still have to fine tune my shocks for a plush landing with those pre-load spacers.

It is alright, just boring. Would rather be driving my truck haha. Here is a link to my videos. Still thinking about the house jump I need to be able to get up about 20-25 feet high and 50 feet long [X(].

Man. You've been talking about that house jump for a while. I think you'll need to skip mowing the lawn where ever you land for a safer landing. Hah..
