Default Dean Connectors

I want to outfit my TC3 with Dean Connectors. can someone please tell me what I need to buy and what I need to do? I already have soldering wire and a soldering iron. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

All that's left is for you to buy the deans connectors. You really don't need anything else. However, a nice soldering jig always comes in handy.

Just go out an buy your deans plugs keeping in mind you will need a male plug for your charger and esc, and a female plug for the battery.

If you also want to use dean connectors for your motor to esc connection then you will also need a female for the esc and male for the motor.

Oh yea, if you dont have a wire stripper, you might want to look into one. Its not mandatory. If you are good with an x-acto knife or sharp blade you can strip the wires yourself, like I do.

You can pick up that soldering jig at radioshack for around $13. For me, it was worth it to have a couple of extra hands and a cleaner job when I'm finished.

I would add just to make sure you don't hold the iron on the connector too long when you make the joint. It heats up fast and can begin to melt the plastic if you're not careful. This isn't really an issue if you have good soldering skills and a good iron, I made this mistake on the first one I did, and aafter buying a few used things w/ deans attached, I know I'm not the only one either.

Stick a male dean connector in the female when soldering to avoid this a bit and keep the connector as a nice fit. Really easy after a you know what you are doing.

Use a vise grip or adjustable crescent wrench to hold the dean's plug while you solder. It will hold it firm and save your fingers!

Be sure to put the female plug on the batteries and the wire from the esc to the motor so they won't short if they touch something.

Make sure the connectors come with shrink wrap.
