Oh that sucks. I guess I could just buy another Hummer kit or RTR and keep it in the box and in 15 years it will be worth a crap load.

RE: Official Tamiya Hummer Thread***
Hello to all!
I know the Hummer may be "old hat" to many of you, but I'm just getting back into things, so to speak. I haven't had an rc car since I was a kid! Grasshopper, Hornet, and Sand Scorcher were all on my shelf at one time. Also a Wildcat, from Kyosho, if I recall correctly.
I recently bought and assembled a Tamiya Hummer after all this time. I'm having a hootin' good time driving it, but I honestly think I had more fun building it. And taking it apart to install a full set of bearings. And putting it back together again. Now I'm lusting after all these aftermarket part I don't really need, but still want none-the-less. Upper arms, lower arms, steering linkage, and of course, shocks. I've just gotta have a set of aluminum dampers for this thing! You know, nice, slick ones with threaded bodies and great action. The problem is, I am having a hard time finding some that I know for certain will fit. From end to end, the stock shocks are about 68mm long. All the dampers specifically for TA01 chassis cars are way too short, and all the dampers for other trucks are too long. I'm sure I could piece something together, but that's also very frustrating, trying to source parts I'm not sure will fit together properly. I'd like to find a nice set of aluminum dampers that will work with little, if any, modification. Can anyone here steer me in the right direction?
Thanks,
Steve

I will order me a XB from TOWER when ever I get my paycheck . I'm planing on cutting off the slantback and roof and replacing it with a black fabric , and I will add wheel wells and lower the center of gravity with weights . Then paint it metallic black and add rear hummer bumper and a few other small things the make it into a realistic BLACK HUMMER H1 OPEN TOP kinda like the one in the pics .
