Tamiya Super Blackfoot worth hopping up?
I have an old super blackfoot and was wondering if it was worth putting money into it or not. I planned to put imex All t tires on it, oil shocks, and a 10 turn triple motor. Or should I just get a rolling chassis of a newer car? Will a low turn motor prduce enough torque to turn tall tires? Which is torquier singl;e or tiple? (can't remembeR) Your opinions would be greatly appreciated.

yes a super blackfoot is a good tough truck but...parts are at a 0 right now so I would keep it stock and save it.

I recently rebuilt a Super Blackfoot, it was expensive and hard to find parts. Hop-ups are almost impossible to find. I don't think the gearbox will handle a 10 turn you will destroy it quickly. They have no adjustment for a different pinion gear. The fastest i ever got mine was a trinity psycotic reaction, and an 8 cell pack.

I think this truck is the same as the Tamiya "Bush Devil" & the "King Black Foot". I've tried using an an Epic 10 Turn single on this thing. It runs faster even with the stock 10T pinion gear & 7 cells. You have to use matching ESC that can handle 8 turns or lower. Use Associated RC-10 (long) oil filled adjustable shocks to get a good balance in cornering. Roll overs are minimized up to 60- 70% with this mod.
With a stock 27 turn motor, you can pull "wheelies" & jump sidewalks all day long. (wheelie bar a must if you plan to use those Trinity"stock" or Monster Maxx 550 Class motor).
To keep those stock body mounts from breaking off, use those Lexan lightweight bodies made by HPI, Team Losi or Protoform. These lightweight bodies will give that Truck the weight savings it needs to pull off the wheelies & jumps.

Ya I'm deciding to use a 20 turn motor in it and put a 10 turn in a tlt 1. That should be ballistic.
