MAH???
Im preatty new to electric, so i was wondering what does Mah mean and does a higher number mean longer run times, more power, or somthing else.
The reason i am asking this is because i was wondering whether i should get a
FMA Direct/Kokam FMA Scorpion 7.4V 1250mAh Car LiPo
or
a 3000mah Nimh pack??

RE: MAH???
Mah is the capacity of the cells, higher capacity ='s longer runtime.
Between that Li-Po and a 3000mah Nihm pack, I would have to say get the Nihm pack. That Li-po will only give like 5 minutes of runtime. BTW those Scorpian packs are WAY overpriced.

LiPo batteries are POTENTIALLY lethal if you don't treat them right. I've been at this hobby for nearly 20 years and I don't have the nerve to run LiPo yet.. Get a NIMH, you'll live longer..

RE: MAH???
I've been using Li-po for over a year (not in 1/10 cars, in 1/18th and planes) and I'm still alive and well.

RE: MAH???
Nothing besides the fact that if you dont charge them right, over charge them or discharge them to quickly they could do one of two things, exsplode, or catch fire and become a big smoldering blob of battery acid. And thats not even taking into affect the results of just shorting it acsidently which I have done countless times with my bashing 3300's

RE: MAH???
No, they are a lot more dangerous and the potential of them being dangerous makes people not want them because they can't kid around with them or do anything wrong.

RE: MAH???
ALL batteries are dangerous.
I'm not trying to make out like they aren't dangerous, that's not true (like I said ALL batteries are dangerous). What I'm getting at is if they are handled properly and you follow the WARNINGS AND INSTRUCTIONS you will have no problems.
If can't follow some simple instructions you have no business messing with anything R/C in the first place, a R/C car going at a fast pace has the potential to do seriously maim or kill somebody if it were to hit them in the head!
And I should hope that everybody here has enough sense to not be "kidding" around with their batteries.
